That's according to Jerry Reese, who has had two phone conversations with No. 92 in the last two days.
The one this morning ended with Strahan telling Reese that his decision -- retire or return -- will be made in the next day or two. Both convos, according to Reese, were "constructive and positive."
What that means, we'll find out when Strahan gets here. If he gets here... Though I'm guessing the chats had something to do with rescinding a portion of the fines, now at $457,216, and perhaps Reese reiterating that Strahan is wanted here.
About to head into the locker room... More later.

At this point I don't care is stray comes back. I"m only 22 so the days of LT and Simms are a little beyond me, but I am as nostalgic as the next fan. In this case though, let's just be done with it. Tuck is the future and Osi is the man. When he was drafted my brother in law called him Osi "Unemployed" (he's a eagles fan by the way)and look what Osi became. We have too much youth and speed on this defense and as a young Giants fan I look forward to the future. Stray will be missed, but let the children lead the way as someone once said.
Who was released at the 4:00PM cut-off this afternoon? Strahan?
My concern with this team isn't Strahan anymore, it's all these damn injuries that keep screwing us up. Mike comming back at this point aint gonna make this team any better.
I agree. At this point I think the team should move on instead of investing in someone at the end of their career, coming back from a serious injury and who obviously only cares about himself and does not give a damn about the team.
Yes, Strahan is a great individual player, but how much has he helped the Giants win as a team?
The Giants are a storied franchise and I'm sick of them not being more of a contender in the league
What would Wellington Mara think?
I agree the giants can move on and the hold out is pretty selfish. But you can't honestly say "how much has he helped the Giants win". The record with him the last three seasons is 22-11, the record in games he missed was 3-12. That's ENORMOUS. I for one will feel a lot better if #92 is on the field, I can put my hurt feelings aside.
To an extent, ek. If he plays 4 games then sits with an injury I'll be burning his jersey where ever I find it. This is Tiki redux, and it's more revolting the second time round. If he wants to play great, if not to hell with him. I'm happy for his wife, he's obviously a miserable lying bastard, she should have taken more. He and Tiki could have be remember as this decades Simms/Taylor/Carson(sans rings). But they will not, because they are backstabbing TO-like divas.
Let's not jump all over Strahan yet. As annoying as this episode has been this summer, it really doesn't have a negative effect on the team until after the last preseason game. At that point his absence will be hurting the team's ability to prepare/gameplan for week 1. Until that time, let's just relax and not forget how great a player he's been for the Giants for many, many years.
Simms and Taylor both held-out as well which a lot of people forget (especially once you have a ring on your resume). I definately dont like Strahan like I used to after this, you always like to think all hall of fame caliber athletes are also team players and care about the fans, but eventually you have to be realistic. Either way Justin Tuck, if healthy, will be a big improvement over anyone else we've plugged in there during strahans injuries.
What a slime bag - I am convinced that Strahan is betting that if a key D-lineman gets injured, his negotiating position improves. (do you want to bet on where Strahan will be at 4:30 this afternoon - in front of his TV!) Hey, its a business, management has been doing what Strahan is doing for years - now the players are getting just as slick!
