Plax taking an unwanted road trip

Down to Charlotte to see noted orthopedist Robert Anderson to see how to "best manage" his right ankle issues... This is on team physician Russ Warren's recommendation.

Sounds ominous, despite the Giants' injury report spin -- managing doesn't sound too bad, but who knows what Anderson will say?

More later.

Hey Arthur,

Mike G is reporting that Ronnie Barnes is going with him. I would personally think that's a good sign that 'management' of the injury is the reason for the visit. If it were for an opinion on surgery, etc, it's doubtful Barnes would actually need to be there, right?

Any word on Wilkinson?

Thanks again,

Plaxico better put off surgery untill after the season. We need him out there now more than ever. Another thing, does anyone honestly think Brandon Jacobs could run the ball better than D. Ward has these past couple games? Because I don't think so.

Good point, gmen79player!

I was re-watching the game last night (I love my new DVR) and I couldn't help but think that Brandon Jacobs might not be 'given' the starting job when he comes back. Ward is doing such a good job that he and Jacobs might be splitting time.

Ward IS that good.

Guys seriously....No he's not. I see D. Ward run the ball and think man if that was only Jacobs. He has a nice YPC but he gets most of those yards on draws set up by Eli and the rest of the passing game. Not to mention I'd rather see Jacobs on those draws. Especially this week Gaither and Jacobs 1v1 in the middle. That could lead to a fist fight it would be a great battle all night. Hate to say it but Ward is a flash in the pan. The O-Line is the best its been and years and Ward's just reaping the benefits. Jacobs didnt go to a big time school because of maturity problems, Ward was a small school guy because he's not that good. I like the guy, great for special teams and KR/PR, change of pace back. But Jacobs is a game changer. You gotta gameplan around him.

dude - just b/c he didn't go to a big school, doesn't mean Ward can't be very good.

Dave Meggett - small school
Walter Payton - small school
Jerry Rice - small school

C'mon now - ENUFF with the stereotypes. I'm not saying he's a superstar but don't hold it against him for being from a small school - just means he didn't pay some dues, which he has had to deal with in trying to get into the NFL, but now he's paid the dues in the NFL.
