Practice update

Derrick Ward and Brandon Jacobs did some individual work during the limited time I watched practice, and Ward was running with the scout team for a bit. We'll wait until the official practice report later to find out exactly what they did, if anything.

Also on the stationary bikes were Steve Smith and Plaxico Burress. Aaron Ross wasn't doing much either, needing a trainer to help stretch him out while the team did special-teams work. Not a good sign, I'd say.

TE Mike Matthews was clearly favoring his foot and was also limited.

More in a few. And thanks to those who gave thanks for the work I do here -- not necessary, but always appreciated. Keep doing your good work too in the comments.

UPDATE: TC said Ross is "sore," and has been a bit limited at times this week. Ward told me he "could play if we played today," but it's out of his hands. He was limited again today all the way through. Jacobs did not practice, neither did Plax or Steve Smith.

You keep reporting, we will keep commenting =)

Not to worry about Ross, doesnt look like the vikings are going to be throwing it up much, unless they fall behind quickly, which will probably happen, then you would want Ross to be there for a couple of picks

Any ETA on Smith?, is it still the hamstring? hopefully he will atleast be back for the Bears and Eagles game

How does it look for Ward? game time decision? limited practice doesnt sound so good, I would be shocked if Jacobs was ready to go, guessing he'll be out atleast 2 weeks

Excited to see Bradshaw in RB position, are they going to rotate the two?, or is Bradshaw going to be the third down back?

I doubt we'll see any Bradshaw as far as running is concerned. I feel Ward will start unless TC keeps him out. Drougns will get bulk of carries, Plax could have big game assuming his ankle holds up. The Giants can't pull a Mike Martz and abandon the run if Drougns sucks early on. Exept for their rushing attack, the Vikings suck so run the ball, stop the run. Nice and simple, I hope.
