The news of Michael Strahan's retirement may have come a surprise -- even Strahan himself said he was shocked that he was able to do it -- but in many ways it was something that shouldn't have surprised anyone.
That's why I asked Justin Tuck if he had taken any time in the last few weeks to make any personal preparations, just in case Strahan did retire and Tuck would be thrust into the starting lineup.
"I been preparing for this for four years," he said. "Obviously, eventually, everybody knew that Michael was going to step down. And especially this year, it was in the back of my head, that it would be a great year for him to step down, after we won the Super Bowl. Mentally, I’m either-or about it. It ain't like I’m like 'Oh God, what are we gonna do without Stra?" Obviously he’s gonna be missed, but it gives the younger players, the defensive linemen on this team, a chance to step up."

To me, this smacks of having Steve Young take over for Montana, without the whole force out thing.
Tuck is real good and just getting better.
Mr. Tuck, continue to kick a$$.
