The Giants will likely honor Michael Strahan with a "day" during the upcoming season (ostensibly on a day when whatever network he's working for has the rights to a Giants game). It'll be nice -- they'll trot out some old familiar faces, give him a few trinkets of appreciation, and maybe even let Dan Reeves talk about what an unselfish player Michael Strahan was.
But will they retire the number?
Probably not.
“We’re running out of numbers," Giants co-owner John Mara said. "We can’t go with three-digit numbers, so I’m not sure what we’re going to do."
The numbers retired by the Giants are: 1 (Ray Flaherty), 4 (Alphonse "Tuffy" Leemans), 7 (Mel Hein), 11 (Phil Simms), 14 (Y.A. Tittle), 16 (Frank Gifford), 32 (Al Blozis), 40 (Joe Morrison), 42 (Charlie Conerly), 50 (Ken Strong) and 56 (Lawrence Taylor).
What are your thoughts? Should the Giants retire 92, or just let it simmer for a few seasons before handing it off to another player?

You have to retire his number and as soon as possible. It shouldnt even be a question.
Retire his number. The Giants don't suit up anything near 88 players, so dropping to 87 with the retirement of 92 is well worth the inconvenience, and honors one of the greatest Giants in history and a shoe in for first ballot Hall of Fame.
As a Giants fan my whole life, I would be embarrassed if Michael Strahan's number is not retired by the end of the year. The Thursday night home opener is a perfect opportunity in front of the whole league. He deserves it.
