Why don't the Jets bulk up their D-line by taking Anthony Bryant--a Baltimore Ravens practice squad Defensive Tackle who has great size: Height 6-3 Weight 337
Why not take Bryant from off the practice squad of from the Baltimore Ravens practice squad? He has good size (6'3" 337 lb) and "incredible strength" (according to the Raven's official web site/bio) and is a run-stopper. The highlights of his bio state the follwing "Wide-bodied and big athlete with incredible strength…A solid run stopper, his size and power make him a formidable plug along the interior defensive line."
Could not this size and strength help the Jets run defence and third and short situations?
Yes buffalo is a one sport town. Look who is number 4 on the list.

Gang Green or Gang Greed?
For the 24 years I have been in this world, I have been a lifelong Jet fan. I know for the majority of Jet fans, I have yet to experience as much disappointment as the most seasoned veteran. What I have experienced started and continued with; reluctantly trading my number 7 Kenny O’Brien jersey for a Boomer Esiason (who later blew me off as a 9 year old wanting a signature), a monster contract to another quarterback who’s last three touchdown passes from the year before went to Dallas Cowboys (despite the fact that he was taking the snaps for the Pittsburgh Steelers), and last year’s appalling display of cheers for an injury to the Jets’ one true leader, Chad Pennington. I know I’m leaving a lot of awful moments out ( Dan Marino’s fake spike, all of Rich Kotite’s, and Joe Willie’s very public display of sexual harassment) but none of these even compare to the disgust and embarrassment I felt this week as a Jet fan.
How does someone who went 4-12 the previous season expect more money the following? What neverland world do professional football players live in today? First off, a player on a 4-12 team should be excited that their management went out and made the deals the Jets did during free agency, so as to not repeat the embarrassment from the year before. I can’t believe I live in a society where Randy Moss is willing to take a pay cut so as to play on a team who has a legitimate chance to win the Super Bowl and I root for a team who believes that earning a number 6 draft pick should also deserve pay raises. Do these players not realize they are already overpaid? Or that the majority of them were given the opportunity of a free education to play college football? All the while, the rest of their classmates spend the rest of their lives paying off their student loans actually applying what they learned in college.
I understand that there are other factors that go along with being a professional football player that they believe should entitle them to their preposterous contracts. Ironically my job has many similarities to theirs to include: the possibility of a career ending injury, being away from your family, not always being allowed to pick where you live, and negative media attention as well as people from certain cities hating your very existence. However, the lowliest paid player in the NFL making a rookie’s league minimum dwarfs my salary, so much that those rookies make as much in one month as I do in a year. I even got the opportunity to go to college for free because I too was blessed with enough talent to play a division 1 sport. I am an officer in the United States Air Force. Despite what many of you may think, I’m not writing this for sympathy (I truly love what I do and would not trade it for a thing in this world) but instead to put this issue into perspective. How many other career fields is it acceptable to perform horribly and still expect more money? Playing a game no less that most would bite at the bit to do because of the enjoyment and competition.
Not only should these Jets being ashamed of their greed but also for their cowardice of speaking anonymously. Then again I understand where they are coming from, next season I will most likely be wearing a brown paper bag over my head during Jet games so as to remain anonymous too because I wouldn’t want anyone to know I’m a Jet fan. As of right now, unless there is a drastic change in attitude at Hofstra this summer, I’m done with the Jets. The only green they care about is money and not for one another. For now on, I will only cheer for my alma mater, the United States Air Force Academy, home of the hardest working college athletes in the country, who at the end of 4 years of college football, trade their cleats and pads for combat boots and body armor.
Sincerely yours,
The guy who USED TO be pissed his father sold their season tickets
