Bye-Bye Blog?

By Ken Berger

The draft is over, so Mel Kiper goes back in his basement to start studying high school tape for the top prospects in 2011.

The draft geeks will go away until next April. But you, Jets fans, and me, the Jets beat writer, will not. We're still here. You will spend the whole offseason looking for every sliver of information you can possibly find about how the New York Tanginis are looking, and I will spend the whole offseason (with the exception of comp time, vacation time, and a few moments when I might need to doze off like my colleague the other day) trying to find out that information for you.

Does this mean the blog has to end? I think not, but I'd like to know your thoughts. Is this something you'll find worthwhile if I continue it? Let me know, but hurry. I have some Titus Adams film to break down.

Ken,

I'd really like to see your blog continue. I gained a lot of insight thanks to your posts and all the related comments.

I would definitely subscribe to your feed if you continued the blog. Your articles and the subsequent commentary would provide a good ramp-up to the coming football season.

Thanks for all the content so far...

dont even think about quitting this blog until you have given us the skinny on the undrafted free agents. then there is rookie camp ... mini camps ... June salary deadlines and the resulting Free Agents ...

its an exciting time to be a Jet fan and its all new and uncharted, so I vote for you to press on!

Ken,

Keep the Blogg Alive!!! There's no going back now. It'll be a great way to get Jets info in the offseason. We can start now...did the Jets sign any undrafted free agents after the draft and if so than who?

I really enjoy interacting with you and other Jet fans and busting on Glauber...keep up the good work

Ken: I'm a long, long suffering Jet fan (since the mid-1960's.. woof!)and I found your blog to be refreshingly candid..no spin..puhhhhleez stay with it.. most of the papers go into this Jets news vacuum between now and the start of the season..would be great to know that each morning there is at least one place with new news on the Jets..especially interested in the Tangini 'philosophy' of "smart, versatile, tough, selfless" type players.. what a novel idea..guys that work hard and care! Anyway, keep the blog going my friend.

David

Are you kidding? By all means, please keep the information coming. I know it will be difficult for the media to get a lot of access (a la Parcells, and Belicheck), nevertheless you might want to contact former coaches and colleagues of our draft class (and walk-ons) to get us some additional insights on these players. Thanks.

Keep the blog and track all the draft picks and free agents into the season.

The blog needs to stay! Otherwise you end up saving all the little Jet tidbits and putting them in the Notes section at the end of the next Jets piece you write, probably during minicamp. Keep the info coming, at the very least we can continue to validate that you are smarter than Glauber.

Please keep the blog -- for us Jets fans who have had to move out of the tri-state area, it's a great way to keep up with the team. And what's going on w/ the undrafted free agents?

you got my vote, keep it going. just dont let glauber get one.

Keep the blog!

Ken - - You're stuck now, hombre.
Although I like your columns, there's a bit more meat to your writing here - - you can be more conversive, and I like that.
Also, it gives us a chance to pick your brain... or ask some questions, which you could pass on to Tannini.
I think it also gives you more insight into what your readers are interested in... so you can better serve the readership.

Of course, we don't know what *intangibles* you have... are you captain of the Newsday softball team... do you hunt grizzly bears with a toothpick... are yo able to leap tall buildings, in a single bound... in other words, you may prefer just doing your column, and to hell with us ;)

By the way, as an aside... do you know if Tannini were expecting to pick Gocong, with the #76 pick we received from Philly?
And they kind of outcuted themselves, by trading down there?
To me, aside from a couple of reaches, that looked like a rookie blunder by Tannenbaum... which may have instigated the picks of Schlegel & Eric Smith a bit early.
If so, at least Tannenbaum learned his lesson quickly.

Ken,

Fuhgetaboutit...keep the blog! I'm here in DC and have to hear/read Redskin drivel all the time. Much prefer the Jets drivel. Liked your insights(?) and perspective. The new regime will be a challenge for reporters, but the best chance for us fans to gain some info will come through the use of all forms of media, blogs among them.

Hi Ken,
It is truly new regime with the Jets. The draft proved it so. No more glitter picks but rather developing an intelligent plan for building a championship caliber team. Ahh, a breath of fresh air! (If only the Knicks could learn from this). Your blog has proven that they are Jet fans out there who are well informed, intelligent, and courteous. This has become a special place where Jet’s fans can intelligently articulate their opinions and ideas. This exchange of information, opinions and ideas are also a much needed breath of fresh air. There is nothing out there like it. In five words – We need to keep it!
Max

Ken,

You must keep this going! This Blog is awesome, it is so exciting to read from other fans opinions and to read your insights. The Jets had an amazing draft and it is finally nice to see a place where we can all go and get the latest on Gang Green. Oh, and by the way, this blog and your prepectives have proven that Glauber doesn't know crap.

Again, please keep the blog going. Do you happen to have any insights into what the Jets offense will be like under our new OC? Mangini's comments about how San Diego's offense was difficult to defend against were revealing when our new OC was announced. I guess my question is: what is it about San Diego's offensive scheme that makes it so difficult to cope with? And do we currently have the players to execute it effectively?

Keep the blog - really interesting stuff.

Ken,

As a former Long Islander now living in Atlanta I say keep it coming!! What you're doing is one of my lifelines back to a team that has driven me absolutelty f%$*ing bananas for 45 years. Jets fans can't get enough abuse and disappointment by their team, so please don't go away!!

Keep the Blog Ken... its a very candid and refreshing look into the thoughts of another Jets fan.

Ken, Glauber is a clown. It is your job to save us from his detritus. The more forums you have to do that in, the better.
