Well, it's fairly clear where the Jets feel Damien Woody will fit on their offensive line. They released RT Anthony Clement today, making room for their new acquisition. Clement had started every game of his Jets career -- 33 of them -- but there was a clear need to upgrade the position.
After the loss to the Titans, it was Clement (bolwed over while allowing a sack) who uttered the immortal line "S--- happens." Yes, Anthony, it does.
They also signed CB Andre Woolfolk, who is the type of free agent the Jets used to sign all the time: He hasn't played since 2006. Well, technically he spent last season on IR with the Titans after a strained hammy sidelined him for most of training camp. He's got a history with injuries, having played in only 39 games in four active seasons. But he was a 2003 first-rounder. It's not exactly cause to call on the trumpets and herald his arrival, but Woolfolk should push for a roster spot in training camp.
And with Dyson axed a week or so ago, the Jets needed a new Andre in their secondary.
