Not sure how many people saw this Q&A with D'Brickashaw Ferguson on NBCSports.com. Besides speculating that he would do OK on American Idol, Brick talks about the changes that are taking place on the Jets.
"I feel we’re going into a different direction from last year," he said. "We’ve moved key guys – Jonathan Vilma’s out; Alan Faneca is in. You can tell we’re not playing around, there's a new direction. I mean, Jonathan Vilma is an excellent leader and he’ll do well wherever he goes, but this just shows the changes a team can and will make. As a player, it’s amazing. A player told me when I was starting that you have a different team every year. At the time, I heard him but I didn’t hear him until I saw it happen this year."

i went to college with D'Brick, he's all class. He's a very bright guy who didn't mess around like some of the others, but took advantage of his chance and took real classes (and did quite well). And he's a heck of a nice guy. I hope Faneca brings him and Mangold back up to potential, because no one i've met deserves better
TJ was there when I started , too. Brick when i finished. TJ also doesn't get enough credit. he never talks, never whines, just shows up and out works everyone. TJ even got his degree in three years! a real degree in three years and played as a grad student his 4th year - that is badass. he's no ballroom dancer like Ryan from BC or that worthless Linhart from USC. The Jets are doing right by grabbing character guys like that, and passing on the DAngelo Halls (Va tech = thug U)
If a miracle happens, and the Jets somehow grab Chris Long, I might pass out from sheer joy. we'd have an All-UVA team. Somehow we'd have to trade for Heath Miller...
TRock, why don't you do a story on those guys?
TJ who?
TJ who rushed for 1119 yards last year behind a makeshift line and who is going for 1350 this year. Dude is a horse and Leon is a nice change of pace.
TJ who rushed for 1119 behind a makeshift line and who is going for 1350 this year. And could go for 1300 three years in a row if Faneca teaches nice guy D"Brickashaw to play like the DL just ran over your dog.
Jef,
You realize Thomas Jones is 30 or 31 this season right? 3 years of 1300 yds is a bit of a strecth. Not even Ironman Curtis Martin was able to do that.
TJ is a "young" 30something. Look @ his number of carries his first 4 years in the league.
