Gholston. McFadden. Ryan. Chris Long. Almost every scenario for the Jets draft this weekend has been covered here and elsewhere and the one constant in terms of fans' perspective is this: there is no unanimity on what the right move is. Yes, McFadden seems to be the people’s choice but in voting pro-McFadden, I don’t pick up an anti-this-guy vibe from anyone. In other words, a lot of you want McFadden, but wouldn’t be upset if the Jets went with Gholston, Long or someone else that addressed an obvious need.
So I’ll turn the question this way: What, from your standpoint, would be absolutely unacceptable for the Jets this weekend? Take it from the No. 6 pick perspective or the draft overall [Note to Darrell and others: besides not completing some kind of deal for Dewayne Robertson].
Other notes: check out Bob Glauber’s story in today’s paper on Delaware quarterback Joe Flacco, whom the Jets are rumored to be very interested in. Flacco uses the word "process" in his first quote, leading me to believe he's spent much more time in the presence of Eric Mangini and Mike Tannenbaum than was previously thought.
Additionally, there is still time to participate in Glauber's mock draft contest, going on at a blog near you. I'll keep promoting this until Bob tells me to stop. That's as likely as Hillary dropping out of the primary race. In no way am I comparing the two.
Also, a public thanks to Brian Bassett of the always comprehensive theJetsblog for a fun discussion yesterday.
Be back later after an ESPN conference call regarding draft coverage plans for the weekend. The press release says the network will provide 16 hours of coverage, including a four-hour pre-draft show Saturday leading to the draft's 3 p.m. start. Super Bowl pregame shows now run upward of six hours. C'mon ESPN, not so chintzy next time.

Anyone other that the two Longs is unacceptable. Hope Ryan and McDaddy are there, then they will have the market they truly crave to trade down and take the best CB or WR in the draft.
No tight-ends please.
It'd be great to see them take C. Long, Gholston, or McFadden with the 6th pick. Trades up to get the same players, that would be unacceptable. Trades down would be acceptable, I'd like to see them target D. Harvey or maybe Keith Rivers. I really don't think Ryan's the guy, so if he makes it to #6, he could be trade-bait. I'd rather we drafted Brohm or Henne if we're thinking QB.
too many needs to waste 6th pick on a future QB. Didn't sign Faneca and other Free agenst to wait for a rookie QB to develop.
Trade up is unacceptable. QB, TE, WR, C are unacceptable with the 6th pick.
Trade down is best option.
Jake Long signs with Fish, per ESPN
Matt Ryan is not better than kellen clemens. stay away from New England tricks.
trade down gholston will be there at 8 or 9.
The only thing unacceptable to me, would be if, under the scenario that one or more of the big names (McFadden, Gholston, Long, Ryan) were still on the board, the Jets traded out of the 6th pick with a team other than the Ravens. This poses to high a risk, presuming more than one are available, of losing the ability to obtain a talent as high as theirs.
Other than that, if none of those names are available, if they decided to take a CB at the 6th position, instead of trading down to obtain additional picks would be a terrible situation. This however, seems unlikely thanks to the Phins and the Tuna down in Miami.
Saturday's draft could be the launch pad for the beginning of a great era for Gang Green!
Jon- I am with you ... Tight Ends in the first round are the bane of this franchise.
Erik, thanks for helping out yesterday! I am with you that there isn't a strong consensus on things ... last year, people were strongly divided on Greg Olsen (I wanted OL Ben Grubbs) for instance ... the Jets have the luxury of making whatever move and helping the franchise.
