I'm not in Florida for the owners' meetings, but Eric Mangini is and he spoke with reporters this morning. One of the topics was new OLB Calvin Pace, a player Mangini said reminded him almost immediately of Mo Lewis. Apparently Glauber and Mangini both like to dabble in look-a-likes.
"For a guy that size, not just height but weight, as fluid as he was, that was the player comparison that came to mind right away," Mangini said.
The Jets also liked his position flexability, not to mention his coverage on punts.
Hopefully they didn't sign him to a six-year, $42 million contract so he could tackle punt returners.

It's amusing that you just can't help it :) Mangini praises Pace's special teams skills as an added benefit to his signing and all you have to say in the way of mentioning it is to say "I hope they didn't pay him 42 mil to cover punt returns". And then you get defensive when people bring this stuff up! Or are you just begging for replies even if it comes your way just to point out your similarity to that TV granma Doris ..., Ray Romano's mother's character. Do they tell you to do this in the editors meetings? It seems you search this crap out. I would hope that it's not just your personality that leads to this kind of attitude because that would make you pathetic. At least if you are following editorial direction that just makes you an erand boy with an English degree. So which one are you?
Hey Anonymous, is there someone holding a gun to your head forcing you to log on to this site and read the blog? Didn't think so...
Go Jets!
I see that some are bitter/jealous/critical people :) out there. I believe that the 'special teams' report was meant as a reaction to Mangini bringing up the tidbit about special teams. I think TR was voicing our collective expectations for Pace as a dominant 3-4 OLB after the amount of money they paid him. Some people (I guess) don't see the subtlety in TR's remarks.
As a lifelong Jets fan who grew up 7 blocks from Shea and now is living out of state, I appreciate any news about the Jets. There's not much 'water cooler' conversations to be had, so I have to depend on my limited time on the 'net...
Tom. Thanks for the blog.
