« A brief look at Thursday's OTA | Main | You, Bill Belichick, and the rest of the Patriots, enough with the talking »

A quick clarification

Since several readers have asked about this year's rookie class - specifically - Vernon Gholston, Dustin Keller and Dwight Lowery - they arrived at Hofstra today (Friday) and will begin working with the veterans in next week's OTAs. Also, I've been drafted to help out this weekend on the soap opera known as the Subway Series - tough job, I've got, I know - but I'll check in here throughout the weekend just to make sure Cliff and a few others are doing all right.

Already moonlighting on us, Boland? Who you tryin' to kid, you're on your way to Cleve-Land, "what a perfectly crazy name for such a crazy planet" (can you tell me who said that?) to cover your Brownies. Go suck on an egg, ya' weasel. ; )

BROWNS SUCK!.....jk im still pissed and remember last year when the jets played the browns and i was like the only jets fan still inn the pouring rain just to watch jamal lewis break 18 tackles to score that td at the end.....i kno its random....u c that game erik?

Boland:
I like it better when Mike was ripping you ... jk!!

Mike:
I think you're finding out that Boland is a good man ... despite the fact he grew up rooting for the Browns.

Boland:
Enjoy the Subway Series.

Darrell, as the rain pours down here at Yankee Stadium, I will take a moment to assure you when I actually do head back to Cleveland for something, I will let you know. Even if it's for vacation, which would bring forth all sorts of creative punch lines I'm sure.

Mike, yes, I remember that game. You, indeed, are hard core, but we knew that. If it makes you feel better, which it won't. I was in the press box.

Bob, in keeping with our weather theme, you're just dripping with sincerity.

interesting.....erik i was just wondering....if u are a browns fan why dont u write articles about the browns? did you ever try doing that? what made you want to do jets work?

Erick:

Tell Randolph that games are won on the field but...championships are won in the clubhouse. Hodges knew that better than anyone.

Hey, Erik. Thanks for all posts and replies. I like the fact that you come across as a regular guy, even if you are from Cleveland...

By the way, I'm going to go on vacation in Cleveland. I'll be staying at the Rundon House Hotel.

Actually, I just told my family that so they would all stay home and I could go to the Bahamas instead.

Bid A's got it right, but one things apparent; Erik's lying about
Cleveland cause nothing good comes from there...I shouldn't be talking, I guess. being born in CT and living outside of Philly now...Philly's like Cleveland in a way, except the people from Philly aren't pansies.

Anyways, what have you got to share about the Yanks-Mets game today Erik? Anything newsworthy? Were the rain drops big or small?

On a serious note, your previous post listed Coleman as having been opposite Rhodes, am I missing something here? He signed with the Falcons, but somehow practices with the Jets.

Cliff:

I think that the Coleman who lined up opposite Revis is CB Drew Coleman (draftet 2 years ago... or so), not S Erik Coleman.

Thanks bund, didn't know we had another Coleman on the chart

Any time Cliff :)

In fact we have yet another Coleman on the roster... DE Kenyon Coleman.

Nothing wrong with growing up in Ohio, but some of us grew up right, I bleed Green and White!

Mike, you weren't the only one standing in the rain 'til the bitter end of that game!

Guys, you've given me almost too much to respond to and as it's 9:45 a.m., I have to get out of my chair here at the Stadium and in for a Girardi presser at 10.

First, the Cleveland stuff: Not much to retort with other than to say, hey, at least I'm not from Miami, right? And Mike, I moved to NY in August 2001 to go to NYU and was fortunate enough to land a job at Newsday. That's how I ended up in New York.

Also, Cliff, I think you saw Coleman mentioned prominently in another blog (it's ok to stray). This was my post from Thursday's OTA:

"Lining up at the corner spot opposite Darrelle Revis with the 'first team' was the veteran David Barrett. Lowery will certainly be given an opportunity to win that spot. The safeties were Kerry Rhodes and Eric Smith."

I don't recall mentioning him elsewhere but if I did, it was a mistake, which I'll own up to. I just don't remember writing his name anywhere. And, Cliff, those rain drops last night, you've never seen anything like it.

Finally, Big A, Rundon House Hotel...

Ok, Andy Pettitte vs. Johan Santana coming up

My heart goes out to you warrior Jet fans because I'm only able to make about one Jet game a year now since I live in South Jersey, and try to make it a warm one at that, but I remember the bitter cold of the howling winds of the upper decks at Shea during those late season games in the late 70's before they had invented all that cold weather gear, and there was just no way to get warm.

Ok, Erik. That was my run-on sentence for the season since I missed posting on the run-on post blog... and by the way, I've never been to Cleveland so don't take offense. I do hear Cleveland is pretty run down and has a high crime rate. Maybe that'll change soon...Nah!

Enjoy the game, Erik, I must've just not read well enough; finals take up too much energy sometimes.

I usually make it to a Jets vs. Miami game each year but I was unable to last year...hopefully I'll make it this year.

Cliff, finals are always a legitimate excuse. For lots of things.

Big A, depends which part of Cleveland but the larger point is hard to argue.

Hey Boland, who's covering the Flight Crew tryouts? We need all vital stats plus bios, pronto.
Also, remember that a picture's worth a thousand words.

Roger, you know as well as I do the pictures you want to see I don't have access to.

see, Boland, it's that lack of killer instinct that's gonna do you in. To borrow a line from the Big Lebowski, "Sometimes you get the baar, and sometimes the baar, well he gets you."

Darrell, the same movie comes to mind reading your posts at times....."Sometimes, there's a man. Sometimes, there's a man. Well, I lost my train of thought here."

All right, on to Sunday Night Baseball.

Obviously, you're not a golfer.

Since you asked, I'm a 14. Not where I'd like to be but who is.
