And that's that for Day 2 of the minicamp

Saw a little more, though not much more, in the 40 minutes we were allowed to watch minicamp practice today. Got to see…

- undersized running back Danny Woodhead get some carries. He’s tiny, but can certainly cut.
- agility drills on the bags with coach Eric Mangini keeping a close eye – and offering the occasional critique for a misstep – on every detail.
- Erik Ainge again playing catch with fellow quarterback Brett Ratliff, but delivering a much tighter spiral on longer throws today compared to yesterday.
- Vernon Gholston lining up on the outside and continuing to show a quick first step.
- enough of punter Jeremy Kapinos to say he will be given every opportunity to beat out Ben Graham.

More from minicamp in tomorrow’s paper, with the focus being on Ainge and his experience the last two years of his college career working with quarterback guru David Cutcliffe. Cutcliffe, now the head man at Duke, has coached Peyton Manning – as the offensive coordinator at Tennessee – and Eli Manning – as the head coach at Ole Miss. I talked to Cutcliffe Thursday afternoon about Ainge and spoke with Ainge earlier today about working with Cutcliffe.

Hi Eric, and welcome to the new post in Jetslandistan.

It's now a week after the draft and I've had some time to let it all sink in. At this point, I believe that this is one of the best drafts in the Jets mostly sorry history of drafts. There's not one of the six picks who I don't think can make a contribution, soon if not immediately. And there are no fewer than three UDFAs who I also like a lot.

My question is, in your opinion, how many of them will actually stick, either in the active roster or on the practice squad?

Can a corner actually oust one of the four mediocrities who player opposite Revis last year? Can one or more of the UDFA backs actually displace Chatham or even Richardson? What chance does Henry have of bumping Smith, Stuckey or Wright? Who will challenge Barton at ILB?

Lord knows, a roster that produced a 4-12 season certainly must have some weaknesses. What pieces of under preforming deadwood need to be replaced by younger, hungrier players?

I've uploaded the Jets Draft Review that we did Thursday night with Newsday's Jets beat reporter Erik Boland.

It's 52+ commercial-free minutes of nothing but Jets talk in MP3 format.

Each and every pick is discussed in great detail, along with discussions about Chris Baker and other behind-the-scenes stuff.

As always, thanks and I hope that you enjoy.
