The Jets this afternoon, in a move that had been discussed for weeks, re-signed unrestricted free agent cornerback Hank Poteat. Poteat started nine games for the Jets last season and appeared in all 16 games. The Jets, for now, have the maximum 80 players signed to their roster.

Beautiful. Hank is a good soldier and a good role guy. This was a no-brainer.
I think a no-brainer would have been to trade for Lito.
with what? For what we have to give up for Hank (somewheres close to vet min) we couldn't ask for a better slot/depth guy.
If we tried I'm sure we could've gotten Lito for Vilma. To be honest, I'd have much preffered that because then we wouldn't have wasted a 4th rounder to move up for Keller and we would've still gotten him with our second.
