Ted Nolan’s juggling act

The game of roster roulette the Islanders are playing as they move players back and forth from Bridgeport to the Coliseum took another turn this morning when there was some doubt about whether they would have a full lineup of 20 bodies for tonight’s game against Philadelphia.

Having dispatched Jeff Tambellini back to Bridgeport, where he scored a goal in his first game back Friday night, and replaced him with Frans Nielsen coming off the injured list, there was some apparent uncertainty about how many Sound Tigers would make the return trip. Defenseman Matthew Spiller and forward Tim Jackman were recalled, but it was only after practice that a decision was made to bring back Steve Regier to fill out the Isles’ roster.

“It’s tough,” Nolan said. “At this morning’s practice, we had two lines and one extra guy, and we had two [injured] guys playing there. The guys who are coming up are not here with us this morning. So, line combinations are a little bit tough. Bridgeport is fighting for a playoff spot, so, they need their players and we need them here. Right now, I know Jackman is coming and Spiller’s coming. We’re going to be short a forward if we don’t have another guy coming. So, we don’t know that yet.”

A few minutes later, Nolan learned that Regier also was returning. But that doesn’t mean the Islanders will necessarily have a full lineup. Forward Trent Hunter left the pre-game skate early because he was feeling ill.

The return of Nielsen means that Miroslav Satan will move back to a wing position on a line with Nielsen at center and Hunter on the other wing if he’s healthy. Nielsen last played on Feb. 28 when he suffered a separated shoulder in Atlanta that caused him to miss the next 13 games.

“He’s been off the ice for a few weeks, so, he’ll be rusty,” Nolan said of Nielsen. “It’s a situation where he has to perform at this level. Usually, you send him down to Bridgeport to get him some conditioning and then get him back. But we have what we have.”

Satan joked this morning that the Islanders’ locker room looks more like a hospital zone with so many guys limping around and walking on crutches. Asked how the team is handling all the lineup changes, he smiled and said, “Well, it’s the morning, and it’s still a mystery. We’re going to find out before the game how the lineup is and who’s playing and who’s not. I just know there’s going to be more changes today from the last game.”

After some further consideration, I've decided that "The Plan" might be more accurately described as "The Punchline".

You can't go around hiring goalies to be GM's, and son-in-laws to manage the rebuilding of businesses they have no experience in. You can't put a no-talent team on the ice year after year and expect to have an enthusiastic, season-ticket holding fan base. You can't try to squeeze super-grandiose development plans past the bureaucracy that is Nassau County.

Well, you can, actually. But this franchise is the result you get.

Wang needs to admit he knows nothing about hockey or putting a quality hockey product on the ice, stop dicking around with his "progressive" failed attempts to assemble some new kind of management team, and hire some real people with experience that know what they're doing.

Thanks 505,
I appreciate your opinion on Bergy's accidental hit on Hossa, and I agree with the fact that either way, it's can only help to publicize the fact that the islanders actually hit someone hard enough, (even if it is accidentally) to knock them out of the game...

but LOGAN ALSO HAS ACCESS TO REPLAY before he writes in a paper calling it a blindsided shoulder to shoulder hit on Hossa that caused him to lay on the ice for a minute before leaving the game.

that was my only point. I don't mind seeing good hits, borderline chippy hits, the occassional dirty hits or even accidental hits like that in a game... If it's dirty then call it dirty... but in this case it wasn't... so the distinction should have been made.

DOC

Maybe Logan wanted to insinuate that the Isles actually played physically for a change! The Isles are the softest team in hockey, not very Nolan-esque. I think the entire organization is lost when Trent Hunter is pointed to as a cornerstone of rebuilding. Is that a joke? Hes such a f*g. The announcers like him, like ethey used to like Mark Parrish. He sucks.

Wow... What a goal that was.

Flyers deserved this one.
Do you think any team in the NHL has an ounce of fear when playing the Isles(other than having to endure the LIE?) We are a bunch of icecapades out there. No balls. No hits. No fights. Even Avery has balls, albeit he pays for them to be massaged. Davison should neutralize him though. LOL.

frei: about your post regarding the plan, I agree 100% with you, great post. Ive said the same things to friends and co-workers.

Is there any question that Dubie wants to be back on Long Island? I can't see why we wouldn't want him. Except maybe the Gordon's fisherman on the helmet.

As for the Isles "grit," this off season is where Snow will show whether he's a real GM or not. Get us someone who will stand up for the team, and someone who can put the biscuit in the basket, as a befuddled coach once said. Where's Kip? Is he still suspended, or do the powers that be want him to get "playoff experience"?

As for Hossa, unless he proves he's less fragile than a faberge egg, I don't want him near this team. I think we saw enough injuries this year. A brace on both knees, then an undisclosed "upper body injury"? Sounds perfect.

Just wondering if my posts are still being blocked by Logan. Once I wrote that I was not buying tickets anymore he began blocking me. How 's the kool aid, Greg............Sir Willaim

That goal was, I think, Okposo to Comeau to Park back to Comeau, at which point Comeau had an empty net, because the Flyers goalie was busy looking around for his jock.

I'm sure it was the prettiest goal I've seen from this team in over 15 years.

Caught much of the game last night. How fun is it to watch the kids line? comeau~KO~Park was electric. Bergy looked great. Ialos liked the play of Jackman the past couple of games.

Obviously they were outplayed due to the Flyers talent. The shot totals are prrof of that. But, the guys played hard! Very Hard! Even Satan was getting into it all night with some chippy play.

Flyers are slowly becoming public enemy #1 in my eyes...Well # 2 behind our beloved friend fornm msg. I cannot stand seeing their fans romping it up in our barn. PAYBACK will be nice one day. April 8th I will get some revenge when I go to opeing day at Shea vs. Philly.

SNOW.....I and all are watching. We need a first line. We need a pest. We need the RIGHT draft pick !!! The kids are coming along. The backup goalie is showing us he is serious. The defense when healthy will be good. Witt will wear the "C"

GET ERRRRRRRRR DONE !!!!

Yeah Frei ... I concur .... that goal was shaweet...

The goal was Okposo >> Comeau >> Park >> Comeau

Okposo carried the puck up the middle and started to split the defense drawing both D-men to him ... dished it off to Comeau .. who passed across to Park ... and then Park returned the puck to Comeau who smartly slowed down and stayed in position.

Great Goal!!! Great hockey smarts and instincts from all 3 players involved.

I also liked how Franz came back from injury... something else to look forward to next season.

Yeah Bri ... Dubie looks more than capable to be a regular backup. I think he fits the Isles mold for BU pretty good .... with a capable offense and healthy defense infront of him I'm sure his numbers will be better.

DP should have 62-65 starts max for next season... if he's the stud goaltender he's supposed to be he'll manage 40 wins with some offense infront of him.

That leaves Dubie with 17 to 20 starts ... I think that is a good balance and gives DP some rest ... I'd assume that Dubie would grab one start in every 3 game in 4 night spans... and a handful of spot starts at the very least.

Dubie has been saying all along that he wants to remain in LI. If this is not just the normal "spewing" of a player looking to test the market and looking at becoming a UFA, without appearing disloyal (and I have no reason to believe it is), then IMO siging him to a good solid two year deal at the going rate for a solid, if unspectacular, backup goalie is an immediate imperative for Snow. Much as I'd like to see another Nova Scotia kid (MacDonald) on the NHL roster, Dubie has done it for us (cheerfully and without complaint -- great qualities in a BU goaltender) over the last couple of years and I think the team owes it to him to give him some security for a couple of years. It's not like we have Cap problems or anything.

51 saves in a NOTHING game? That's just sick.

Love to see the "kids" playing well together, although LOL at calling Richard Park a "kid" -- He just plays like one.

Those Nielsen and Comeau goals were, as we say in my Ball Hockey league, "Pretty to Watch".

I think I am going to be ragged on for this but I think that Okposo, Comeau, Park goal was nearly the prettiest of the year, just behind the one time MC Toe-drag actually got behind the defense with his patented move.

I am also partial to the Bergenheim "scoring while being dragged down from behind" break aways.

Liked the fight I saw last night Soundlanders.

Correction: Liked the fight I saw last night FROM THE Soundlanders.

You know its too early when you forget two whole words.

There are three places in the standings that you don't want to be .. one of them is more unique to the other two.

1- You don't want to finish 9th in the Eastern Conference just missing the playoffs.

2- You don't want to finish 9th in the Western Conference just missing the playoffs.

and this might be just as bad ....

3- You don't want to finish 5th worst in the league ... just missing out on a shot at the #1 pick in the draft lottery.

Where are the Isles today?

5th place .... 2 points ahead of St. Louis.
Isles have 3 games remaining. Devils, (2) Rangers.
St. Louis has 4 games remaining. (2) Nashville, (2) Columbus

If Isles and St. Louis finish with the same point total the tie breaker is wins ... Isles currently have 3 more wins .... so Isles would end up finishing with more wins should they finish tied with points .... because there is no way now for St. Louis to acquire more wins than the Islanders if they end up tied in points. So ... basically ... St. Louis needs to finish at least one point ahead of the Isles.

The magic number for the Isles to finish 5th from worst is .... 6 points ... any combination of St. Louis losing points and the Isles gaining points in the 7 combined remaining games between the two teams for a total of 6 points clinches 5th from worst for the Isles.... and even if they won the lottery .. the highest pick they get is #2 overall.

the isles finish 5th worst they still have a shot at the #! pick, this is what happened in 2000 with Rick D. Spots 1-5 you are in the lottery for the 1st pick.

My apologies if this has already been posted earlier.

1) I enjoy watching the kids and their energy. If it had not been for the injuries, however, would they have ever gotten a shot? Despite the draft pick, I really wanted the Isles to win last night and shut up those Flyers fans.

2) I almost died when Nolan started the OT last night with Vasicek and Guerin. Only Comeau got a shot on the second PP. Has he learned nothing?

3) On the plus side for Nolan, a Sports Illustrated NHL players poll had him ranked second (behind Babcock) as the coach players would most like to play for. No info on whether any scorers were on the list.

4) Snow: I've been watching a lot of Edmonton these past few weeks, and Nilsson and Grebeshkov can play--but we knew that already, didn't we.

5) Chris Dey: I like the effort by Logan, but 30 teams in the NHL have a plan--and for the non-contenders, the plan is pretty much the same. How about an article giving a two-yera retrospective on the Committee structure. What have been plusses? What are the minuses? Is there a need to rethink the structure? If not, why? If so, why? Do you regret any deals?

6) Does Wang have any other daughters?

mike... I stand corrected ... when I was reading the lottery % .. it said can only move up 4 spots ... I took that as top for have a shot at #1 ..... yeah ... we are now in the Stamkos sweepstakes ... still rather have #4's odds. LOL!!
-------------------------------------------------
NYR ... Yeah .. I am watching a playoff team on NBC today... The Penguins ..... I'm actually transmitting the game here at work.... I can't wait to watch CoZ and Malkin tear into that Red Meat .... not much different then watching Lions hunt down, stalk and kill a heard of water buffalo on the Discovery Channel.

Fun Fun Fun.
----------------------------------------------
NYR ... We'll see you gals (NYR) at the turn between the 9th and 10th hole after you guys set yourself up to lose in the first round .... honestly .... it's going to be an interesting finish in the East ... Pitt and Habs battling for the the top spot ... and 3rd - 9th battling for position and one of em isn't going to make the playoffs .... that is going to be interesting. A 90 point team is going to be eliminated ... again .... it's those dumb 3 point OT/ SO games inflating point totals. So far the Rags & Floppers have benefited most from their OT/SO losses.

The real DOC doesn't think the Islanders mailed it in last night... they just got beat... that's all.

DOC

Much like the end of the 2005-06 season the soundlanders are outperforming our expectations.
Snow hasn't done much, but we'll see if the bobbleheads have the ability to get it done this off season. They should have enough money to bid for what they need. they have some chips to throw around for a few prospects, and they have a new corp of defensemen that should add some depth.
They first need to extend Nolan's contract.
I'd also like to see Trottier become the PP coach. He has done pretty well in the past in that capicity. Last night the PP looked better than it had in a long time... except they didn't shoot the damn puck until KO was out there.
KO might not be in the same league as Iginla, thorton, Ovechkin and others, but he is sure fun to watch. you would have to say he has earned a roster spot in October.
It should be an interesting off season.
C: Comrie, Nielsen, Sillinger, Park, Hilbert, Walter. They have to improve here. If they re-sign Vasicek to replace Silly as the third line center it might be enough... bet then they'd have to pick up a first line forward.

Right now, when healthy the October lineup looks like this...

Bergenhiem-Comrie-Guerin
Comeau-Park-Okposo
Sim-Sillinger-Hunter
(Jackman/Brennan)-(Nielsen/Walter)-Hilbert

Witt-Martinek
Sutton-Campoli
(Gervais/Berard/Meyer/Spiller/Davison/Johnson)

There is definitely room for improvement... but they should be in a good spot next year. If nothing else, they should keep things exciting in their division.

JPinVA ~ "There is definitely room for improvement"
.......... You can say that again...

Remember ... aside from the rookies ... the same lineup as this year ... and that didn't do us much good.

I think the rookies add a dimension to the lineup ... but other than Okposo ... no impact players that make help the Isles rise above their peers.

I think staying healty next season is a key ... and doing something to that horrid PP.... your mention of Trotts just might be the elixer they need... but the PP can only be tweaked so much. Personnel help make the PP.

I wouldn't want to see Trotts fail because the staff just isn't offensive enough.

Also keep in mind a lot of those guys that are already experiencing fading skills due to age will be a year older.... and there is no guarantee that Sillinger will be back no less able to have the same skill level.

man, the rangers are going to spank the isles next week. I hope avery, orr etc...run wild on the weakest team in hockey.
whats the plan for next year? You think kip will be the man to protect? lol. You'lll need alot more than that.
Hey, you have Hunter though!! Hes SOOOOO tough.

Hey NYR & KevinsShacK

How's 3-1 tasting for ya?

Merrick ~ LMAO!!!!!!!!

I just read your 10:51 post .... love how you wrapped that up ... ^5

MY prediction for 7th and 8th seed for eastern conf. 7th washington, 8th Boston...rangers OUT!!!

Back in Chowderville. As always NYC did not disappoint!

Glad to see many agree with the teams effort last night. I too was rooting for a big win over the hated Flyers. After dealing with their fans at the last game I went to, I know how you feel Merrick! You just want to shut them and their mullets up !!!

KO ~ Comeau ~ Park are a very good line. I would like to see them stick together next year. PLEASE let's not get fooled though. THE BOBBLEHEADS still need to go out and sign a true 1st Line !!!!

Tonysac...From your fingers to God's ears !!! :)

I saw the below news as well Merrick. I guess my sources are pretty good ;)
*****A Sports Illustrated NHL players poll had him ranked second (behind Babcock) as the coach players would most like to play for. No info on whether any scorers were on the list. *******

Steady ... this is a segment from a writer at the Boston Globe ....

Regarding the Isles proposal to play the Rangers @ Yankee Stadium ... apparently the Bruins got wind of the Isles objections to the suggestion that the Bruins might play the Rangers instead.

Here is what the writer said... regarding the Devils / Isles objections.

Until they are appeased — or simply told by commissioner Gary Bettman to grow up and go away — the Stadium won't hear "Game On!" hollered before its last sporting event.

19,
"Remember ... aside from the rookies ... the same lineup as this year ... and that didn't do us much good."

I know I may have the bourbon colored glasses on sometimes, but I didn't see this season as a negative at all. Nolan had a team that was SHELLED in July fighting for the playoffs in January. If not for the injuries we would have been deprived of TOI for Tambellini and Nielsen, but we would have gotten [possibly as high as a 6th seed] playpff appearance (IMHO).

The "rookies" will constitute an exciting second line next year. They need a first line sniper that can push one of the wings to the third line... and they definitely need a third puck carrier that can work with Campoli on the PP. But there are only so many spots on the roster. This team still needs two years to grow into a "cup contender", but they have a lot going right now.

Without adding a single thing they will be faster, stronger and younger... what they need to be is tougher and more talented. Remember, they should have Sim and Sillinger back early next year... if Silly doesn't opt for retirement. They will have some different options...
I, unlike most, like what Vasicek "can" bring to the team. I think Hilbert should be the "odd man out", maybe a draft day 3rd rounder...
Next season is on SNOW... they have all the money in the world and really only need to fill two key positions. There's no reason they can't be a playoff lock next year... unless Snow (and the bobbleheads) fails to improve them next year.

You Icelander fans are a sad bunch man. The pathetic management team has led to decades of horrendous hockey. What is sadder is how gutless the team has become. You are the little kid on the block in every way. You can hate the Rangers all you want. But, lets face reality: we can beat you anywhere, anytime. Scoreboard or with our fists. You are the last of the Tri State teams as ususal, have no fans, no heart etc..

Whats a Nolan-type player? Hunter? Okay, doesnt really score much, cant fight, yet is the foundation from which you will build. Hes a poweer forward? Lol. Yea, without the power.

Kev- I dont disagree that Hunter is nothing special. And, the Islanders have become a pacifistic bunch. However, the Rags are hardly bullies--no one fears them physically (like Anaheim, Calgary etc..). I realize that you troll the Islander blogs because there are fewer Rags on the Island and you are lonely. However, lets not superimpose the glaring weaknesses of the NYI's to the Rags strong suits. The Rags need a crease clearer, Avery and the GM hate each other, Lundquist has faded, Jagr is a gonner,Shanny washed up....just some things to chew on.

Kevin .... aside from obsessing about the Islanders and your ... uhhh .. happy lover .... uhhhh. ....

Here is something to chew on .... do you realize you guys 3 points away from a surging Washington team from making the playoffs?

Do you realize that if the Caps win the remaining 3 games are against Carolina, Florida and Tampa ... 3 teams that they can surely beat .... they will have 94 points if they can do that....

Do you also realize the Rags have 91 points with 4 games left ... against the Pens, Devils and 2 against the hated lame duck Islanders .....

Wouldn't it suck if the Rangers dropped one game against the Pens or the Devils and then get swept in the home and home against the Isles .... that would be catastrophic!!!

That would be just as bad as the Islanders knocking the Rangers out of the playoffs ..... Oh Boy!!!

And if the Rangers beat the Isles and make the playoffs.... so what? That might help get the Isles a better shot at Stamkos .... and what did the Rangers really achieve .... you're supposed to beat the Islanders .... so Big Friggun Dealio ......

Oh .... this week is going to be interesting after all..... if the Isles knock out the Rangers though watch out .... it gives Gary Bettman another reason to hate the Islanders.

So far this season there have been 259 OTL / SOL combined .... that is 259 points that skewed the standings this season ...... what a joke.

The Islanders wouldn't benefit either way from these extra points .... their main problem is the loss column .. but it is just ridiculous.....

Can you imagine if Major league baseball gave 1/2 a game to a team that made it to extra innings?

What a joke ... who stole hockey from us anyway?

Don't all fans agree with this?

Oh man 19, your scenario would just be too good, and I do believe I would sacrifice odds at the #1 pick or even a top 5 to see the Isles destroy the Rangers season. That would just about be the clincher for you, given your opinion of the team that finishes 9th in either conference, eh?

I've got a buddy that's a huge Caps fan in my office...maybe we will offer an effigy to the Hockey Gods and see what we can do!!

Oh, and I will throw my support behind anyone that thinks Trots should have a more prominent role as a coach for this team. I love him in his current position, but if the team is getting younger as a whole, he will be that much more valuable. I still wonder if he is not next in line to coach this team, whether Nolan is extended or not. Suppose we'll see...

D-$ ~

Yeah, The Caps capping off the Rags would be sweet ... especially since the Isles would have to have a hand in it.

I'm sure there are tons of Caps and Isles fans in the mutual appreciation fan clubs right now.

JPinVa .... what's the word down there with Caps fans?
-----------------------------------------

Yeah D-$ .. JP brought up a good point about Trotts ... he certainly has the resume to be a builder kind of coach ... and he was mentored / coached by one of the best in history.

He coached me at his Skating Academy in Port Wash back in the late 80s .... and my game improved 10 fold ... as I stated in a recent previous thread ... he turned me from a 3rd line RW to first line center ... and 20 years later playing with guys 15 years younger than me ..... I still hold down the first line center spot ..... Thanks Trotts!!!!

::scratches head :: I wonder if I'm the Bill Guerin of my team ... 2nd line skills playing first line?? LOL!! Nahhhh!!!

How many farm team players are on this roster?

Hal

too many!!!! lol

but we've got Neilson, Okposo, Spiller, Regier, Jackman

does Comeau count? he was a call up for Simon.

if Comeau counts that would be 6.

Did i miss anyone?

Jeremy Colliton.

Jeff Tambellini, too.

That's right Colliton.

wasn't sure to include Tambs or not because then i would also include Walter, Fata......oh man my head hurts lol. For all our sakes, let's hope this team is healthy for next year.

i already need a beer

you buyin?

Watch out, Netminder...it's MONDAY

Beer.......emmmmmmmmmmm....Beer .

What a great word....."BEER"

LETS GO METS GO !!!!!

It's SAD reading from the pathetic bunch here that all they have to hope for is the RANGERS getting knocked out.It can't happen. We have a home and home against the ice girls. That's 3 or 4 points right there. We will end up 5th or 6th in the conference. We will be IN THE PLAYOFFS! You on the other hand have to hope for a draft choice.Hope it works out for ya all.If Snow screws it up maybe Dubie can make your moves in a few years.

It's hard to judge players when a team has no pressure and is just playing out the string but one guy who played very well under pressure down the stretch last season and has played well again this year when called on is Dubie and I think he should be rewarded with a new contract ASAP. Hopefully next season Nolan will have more confidence to play him more and DP less.

27;

What about Blake Comeau?

He's by far been our best player night in and night out.

I like what I've seen from Comeau I think he has done more with the opportunity he was given than Tambellini did and I am very optimistic about Bergenheim I liked how he played and I am not bashing any of the call ups but I'm just saying it's too early for me to judge these players however I feel Dubie has done enough to warrant a new contract.

I Love these Raggie fans who just assume that they will be getting points out of us this week, forgetting about the fact that we're still 4-2 against them so far this year and have had absolute domination against them over the last couple of years (10-3-2 in the last 15). Memory problems much? Let's see how OK does in big rivalry games, I'm sure that he as well the rest will be fired up to play the spoiler. Go back to your mom's basement and leave the hockey talk to those who are trying to have intellegent discussions.

Anyway, as long as Snowlan is comfortable actually playing the kids and get them decent minutes for the entire year next year, it will be exciting. Youth development will be great to see, even if we don't tear up the league. It is really the only way that we have a shot at long-term improvement and contention.

Free agents: The only ones that I'd like to see are Ryder, Asham, and Campbell. The latter of those is highly unlikely, since he will be getting top dollar offers from many teams. Ryder could be obtained if we're willing to over-pay by a million and give him a longer term (he's 27 I believe and probably would like to get a front-loaded contract over at least a 5 year term), and I'm sure Asham would love to come back to a fan base that loved him and truely appreciates what he can bring to the game. I don't think that Hossa would ever come here, and I don't want him anyway. He's more of an injury liability than anyone we currently have (and that's saying alot)

I don't think Nolan is going anywhere this summer. Let's see if he can really help in the development of the kids when many of them are actually playing a full season at the Crown Jewel. He's in the last year of his contract, and it is in his best interest to be an Adams contender next season.

PENS 4, RANGERS 2.....WE TAKE 3 OUT OF 4 POINTS IN THE HOME AND HOME STRETCH!! WAshington wins all 3 games left, Boston wins 2 out of there last 3..rangers win 1 out of there last 4!!! SORRY RAGS, BUT THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN...IF NOT, AND U DO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS..GOOD LUCK..I JUST HAVE A BAD FEELING, AND THATS NOT JUST COMING FROM AN ISLANDER FAN WHO HATES THE RANGERS...Just a prediction...I think the rangers are feeling pressured with washington and boston breathing down there necks...and Lunquist in my opinion doesnt play well when the REAL pressure is on.....Once again, if I'm wrong, good luck in the playoffs....Client 16, may wanna lay low from the media playing mind games with him..They need him to play 110% a 100% of the time..If he gives only 75%, then theres a 100% chance they will win only 25% of there games...(1 in there next 4 as i predict)...But if he gives 110%, a 100% of the time, then theres a 100% chance they will wiin 100% of the times....Ok, lets play some HOCKEY!!!!

Forgot to Mention PHilly!!! Games vs Pitts 2x and Devils....This is also gonna be a close one..i say they win 1 out of 3, but making it into OT 2X giving them 1 win for 2pts, and 2 OTL for 2 pts, making 4 points leaving the rangers out of the playoffs, by 1 pt.....

Wow ... the Detroit Tiger's lost their home opener in the 11th inning ..... well .... at least for them they get credited for a half a win .... Oh wait! Ha Ha .... silly meee ... that is baseball ... not hockey..... losers get what they deserve. NOTHING!!!!

Yup, losers get what they deserve.....nothing.The NY ICLANDERS montra!

PLAYOFF HOCKEY on vs tonight @7PM.

I know we've talked about Comeau and Bergenheim, and their progression, but i'm going to make a case for Tambellini to stay. Now before i get ripped for this, let me add that i've done some research to support my claim.

First I took the players drafted in the first round of 2003 (Tambs was 27th overall), and I found out how many points they had scored in their first 82 games. Some took a few seasons to get to 82, some went in their first year playing.

Then I found out what each player was averaging after their first 82 games and found that their was a 70% increase in points production from their first year (which included their first year).

My point is this. Tambs still has not played a full 82 games in the NHL. We've seen Nilsson improve over in Edmonton cause he's getting the games in. Take a look at Bergenheim, and you'll see the numbers improve also after his first 82 games.

If Tambellini was given a roster spot next year, and a big confidence booster from this organization, 30 points out of him in his first year is not out of the question. Depending who he lines up with, he could do more.

Just making a case. Now time to get ripped =)

to make a quick correction: the AVERAGE was a 70% increase in points per season, some went higher, some were lower.

Did you guys get a chance to see the Rags Hollweg??? He looks like some cheap p0rn star with that mustache. What an a-hole!!!!

Did you guys get to see the Rangers win tonight? Damn, our Icelanders will be playing golf while the Rangers are in the playoffs. Nolan is an adulterer too!

Oops, my mistake. The Rangers win tonight, and will make the playoffs. I am wrong yet again with my earlier prediction.

I never wrote the second one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you guys get a chance to see the Icelanders Nystrom??? He looks like some cheap p0rn star with that mustache. What an a-hole!!!!

Rangers have not clinched the playoffs yet...

1 more point

Listen, we REALLY need the Islanders to beat the Devils tomorrow.

Be pals boys, take care of that for us will ya?

Hat trick for Okposo?

Please?

Ok nyr... fans put it on.... you've had a better season than us but you haven't won anything yet!!!! Talk sh!t a little bit, but get real... when you win something lets start the big time talking... Its funny though because if the scripts were switched there would be isles fans talking smack too... so I'm not angry. If I were you i would be hoping for Carolina in the first round...

Its cool, we'll be back next year.. unfortunately I cant say anything else after this pathetic excuse of a hockey season. But I'll be there tomorrow rooting for the isles to beat the Devs.. not for you but for us!!!!

Ok nyr... fans put it on.... you've had a better season than us but you haven't won anything yet!!!! Talk sh!t a little bit, but get real... when you win something lets start the big time talking... Listen, we REALLY need the Islanders to beat the Devils tomorrow.
Be pals boys, take care of that for us will ya?'

Excuse me while I go off (get off) on a rant here.......
But your sorry ass Rag fans have been all over this board for the last 2-3 days or so waxing unpoetically about this, that and every other BS thing that pops into their expanded prostrate not currently treatable by anything marketed on the MSG Network.

GET YOUR OWN GD WAY INTO THE PLAYOFFS!!!!

BEAT US!!!!!!!!----You finger licking gay offending MSG sorostitutes.

that's me above....BTW

wow, geeez, there ya have it!

I have officially been told off.

I don't care if we miss the playoffs this season. I really don't.

We've been there and done that. Isles fans are not hung up on just "making the playoffs". If Rags fans are bragging about that in their third appearance then it's really gut check time for you folks.

Afterall, I'm certain that Dolan didn't throw money at Drury and Gomez so that team can make it as a bubble team. That's exactly what the Raggies are right now.

As an Isles fan I'm really happy to take the pick this season. It's not like the Rags are going to tear up the eastern conference once the post season begins. They'll just be hitting the golf course one week later.

I tied for 4th in the conference really a bubble team though? I mean, let's be fair here.
