There will be a story in tomorrow's paper about Scott Gordon's plans on improving the Isles' speed this season, but I just thought I'd share a couple other nuggets:
--This past week, Gordon has been busy with a lot of the logistical stuff like hammering away training camp plans and looking for places on Long Island (although his family will remain based in Atlanta), but he has had a chance to get acquainted with his new coaching staff. The primary objective from this point forward, Gordon said, is seeing how the other coaches analyze and break down the other teams in the league, rather than their own team. Gordon wants to see how they all game plan for opponents and gauge how their philosophies mesh with his own. This next week, Gordon said, will be spent getting to know the players. While he has met and spent some time already with Bill Guerin, Chris Campoli, and Frans Nielsen, he'll call and introduce himself to the others and briefly talk to them about last season, and presumably, the one ahead.
--When I asked him areas he would like to improve, Gordon said the goal differential was his biggest target. Obviously, the Islanders need to improve on both sides to whittle away at this problem, but Gordon said the Isles defensive system will be a bit different, one that relies on lots of support and not as many of one-on-one matchups. The other target, and this comes as no surprise, will be the power play. As Gordon said, a PP is designed to fail, but success comes from the ability to create opportunities. Gordon said the team is solid in net, has a good mix of forwards who have an element speed, and has "better than average" level of skill on defense, including a good mix of d-men that can get the puck to the forwards to aid the transition game. The key, Gordon said, will be to pinpoint the weak spot of an opponent's PK to attack off the rush. Gordon conceded many teams stack four guys back, making it difficult to carry in the puck, but that the decision when and where to attack, and whether to carry it in or dump it in, will be the PP unit's responsibility to evaluate what the opposition will give.
Also, The Islanders names Chris Dey President of Business operations. Dey, who used to be responsible for Sales, Marketing, and Event operations, will now oversee all business operations.

Nicely done, you said everything but bobblehead,
Sigh
Hey Katie, good to see you again. I am looking forward to this fresh start. I think he has his work cut out for him, but if what everyone says about his work ethic is true... the rest of the league may be in for a few surprises from the Islanders. I can't wait for camp! And it's almost September! Woo hoo!! Get this summer over with!
Great job 505....All the regulars know how to spot the troll. Too funny he has not figured out our code. Must be a third grader. I am embarassed that he is a Met fan.
Anonymous--Why post about a troll? Just ignore it.
Thxs katie.
Katie,
Is Gordon picking his own coaching staff or will last years be returning?
From previous thread - response to Sir William
(And Jason, this plays into your question...the coaching staff will be retained)
SW - I have a theory about retaining the assistants. I think it's a function of the process having gone on too long. I don't think you can expect to hire a coach a month before training camp and subsequently have him assemble a coaching staff AND be ready for camp in such a short time. If Gordon had been hired in June, this never would've happened, and I can imagine the assistants will be retained or let go based on the experiences from this year.
Just a thought....it seems like making Gordon build the whole thing from scratch in 3 weeks or so would be too much to ask, of either him or any coach.
As for Dey....he seems like a really smart guy from the conversations I've had with him. Let's hope he stays the hell out of the hockey side of the operation.
SW,
(in response to your comments on the prev thread)
I am not disappointed to see a conflicting opinion. I don't think we're that far off. My problem isn't really with Snow. If Snow was the first GM of the Devil's Islanders I'd be okay with his performance so far. But he's not. The team has had terrible ownership since day one, and the only stablizing factor in the mix has been the GM/coach. That hasn't been stable in almost 20 years.
Ownership + Milbury put a huge hole in the side of the boat... and now, rather than fix the hole Wang is just making it bigger.
It's true that we have witnessed the fact that no free agent's worth a damn want to play here. Do you think it's becasue of the building, because they don't have a big lighthouse in the parking lot. It's becasue for 13 years now there has been one clown or another running the show. Emmett Kelly didn't want to pay his players, and just suck the TV money out of the franchise, Clarabel had $8.50 in his checking account when he bought the team, Krusty and Dusty were using their ownership "resume" to buy the Washington Redskins while they tried to make a deal to develop the property... and now we get to BOZO...
Does anybody know where BOZO got the money to buy the Islanders... ask CA stockholders who took a 30% hit the week after he just gave himself $650M (I'm going off of memory here...so my figures are blog accurate... but Katie might do some actual reporting and back me up)
Bozo also threw Mr. Jingles under the bus... so that there were two ex Islander owners in Fed prison in the same decade... At lest the Bengals just have their players in the pokie.
So PLEASE don't tell me that UFA's don't want to sign here for any reason that the ORGANIZATION can't fix. Sell the damn team to people with a clue. (unfortunately nobody wants to by the luxury liner when it's sitting at the bottom of the ocean)...
There is one thing this organization needs to move forward... STABILITY... and the day they fired Nolan they went two years backwards on the timeline to get there... and I really don't have any confidence that they will ever get past that milestone... But who cares, it'll be two years before we get to where we were 60 days ago.
You know they had a 40 goal scorer that wanted to finish his career on LI... nice job garth.
They had backup goaltender that took them to the playoffs with a defense that looked like a casting call from cacoon... and garth dipped into the new england mafia soldier list to sign his replacement before the season even ended. another excellent move by garth.
And NO, I don't think locking up MEDIOCRE talent to 3 year contracts is a good idea.
Extending Witt... great. Love him!
Campoli, Gervais AND MEYER... Only one of them fits into the roster right now. What happens if Kohn pre-mature and make the team in September... those contracts are gonna become bargains for somebody else, and a third round draft pick.
Witt-marty (lock) Sutton-Streit (lock) Campoli (almost assured a spot)... so you are talking about locking up the 5th, 6th and 7th defensemen... of a weak defensive corp... BFD.
Doug Weight is a good sign... but look at the Philisophical differences he creates. I want to see Nielsen and Walter competing for an important role ont he team. If Sillinger comes back they will eb fighting for 4 minutes a night against PARK who has a huge amount of added value. they're lost... YOUTH MOVEMENT MY ARSE!
Basically, what my 20000 word essay yesterday was about was, STOP FEEDING US BS!
that being said I am looking forward to seeing hockey rather than reading about it. I want to see if comrie can rebound from a season where he played like a 9 year old girl. I want to see if KO can be more than a second line forward. Will Comeau continue his maturation into a solid NHL player.
Who will be the guy that throws down when called upon?
JP, would you like some cheese with that whine?
Just got back from micro-ice in Andover Ma. with my 4 yr old....WOW...What a day....There was around 5 minutes left in his skills practice when I look toward the lockeroom and see a bunch of big guys walking in. I go ask my buddy Mark Pandolph (Jays cousin) what is going on......He says: " Just go in the lockeroom with your kid and see!"
In walks me and my son (wearing his Isles jersey) ..... Getting there equiptment on was Jay Pandolpho (who I see all the time there) Hal Gill (absolutely HUGE and such a great guy) Scott Gomez (real cool) Sean Bates (wearing all his Isles practice stuff) Grier (San Jose) and a few other guys I did not recognize. On of which was the 29 yr old the Rangers just picked up Ryan Hillier !?!
What a bunch of GREAT guys....All immediately were picking up my kid and tossing him around, signed his jersey, and made him not feel terrified like when we first walked in.
Bates was especially nice since he saw how much my kid loved the fact he was in Isles stuff. He told me he has not skated for 7 months and was thinking of possibly playing in Switzerland next year.
I asked him about Garth Snow and Wanger and he smiled and said "No comment!" HE then went on to say Garth was always very cool with him and a great guy. He would not however delve into my tongue in cheek questioning of the king Bobblehead. He said he loved his time on the Island and loved when I asked him about his penalty shot goal against the Leafs !!
Anyway, we stood and watched around 12 of them play 3 on 3's with goalies for around an hour. Their speed, skill, and strength is SCARY !!! All were joking and laughing, yet were playing like it was the Stanley cup...No fooling around and KEEPING SCORE !!!
Amazing how cool pro hockey players are !!! Gomez and the new Ranger signed my kids jersey and both made jokes about the rivalry.....Gomez said " You sure your daddy wants me to sign this !!" It was classic.
Anyway, just a nice hockey story.......The guys are getting in shape for 08 !!!
p.s I also asked a kid from Providence (no clue his name, but a big guy) about our new token coach....He said he really liked him and thought he would do well. Said the players all liked him !!! We will see how that translates to the pros and the bobbles in his ear !!!
D$
Did you see when that was written. Probably before the new CBA. It was most likely based on Ottowa's whiney ownership threatening to close its doors and move its quarter billion dollar tax base to Vegas... where they would likely be welcomed with a new arena and a tax collector named Vinny that only wanted 10% of what the socialist canadien goverment was asking...
Nice story Steady. DId you have a wine cooler with Shawn... and talk about his groin? :-)
My first question to Bates would be, "why the heck ws Laviolette really fired?" Followed by, who gets more action, DP or Bruno? DP has the $75M contract, but Bruno can say, "You have a beautiful camaro" in French... and Long Island girls really dig that.
I had a wine cooler once....ONCE...It was used as a weapon!
:) :)
Promoting Chris Dey from Sales to Team President is like taking a kid who failed three final exams in high school and making him valedictorian.
http://www.nyhockeyrivalry.com
Oh My God ..... How did I miss this ..... Obviously did not read the whole article.....
CHRIS DEY is now team President ???????
I warned you all.....The WANGER is out of his mind....Again hooking up family members and putting them in position they DO NOT DESERVE...
He must sell this team....I have completely given up on this clown.....His wife is going to coach this team....You realize that right....Look at his track record with CA......He put family in all the positions he wanted them in, even though they had NO RIGHT being there.
I am going to go postal.
Chris Dey put in a PR position was bad enough. He managed to do a horrible job and attendence was putrid. Now PRESIDENT ????????????
I GIVE UP !!!!
Someone please explain this move ! Womeone on WFAN should ask this clown WHY !!!!
p.s Can u imagine what F.A think when they read this news ? LOGAN....How can u not call the Bobbleheads on moves like these ? How can you not grill them ??
WANGER is destroying this team slowly but surely.....NO LIE !!!
Steady: I totally agree with you about the promotion. This guy should in no way be president. But ticket sales were up the last 2 years....who did he replace as pres?
1) Tickets sales are up over the past two seasons as themass has stated - so while the attendance isn't on par with the rest of the league it's unfair - and very steadylike - to ignore the progress with corporate sales and overall attendace
2) Did you actually read the article where it mentiones Dey's job responsibilities? Show me where it has anything to do with actual hockey involvement? It's totally on the business side of things and from what is seen to date he's done a good job ...he'll be involved with the charities, with the Chinese teams, the Lighthouse, etc.
3) I would like anyone to show me any post that Steady has posted over the past calendar year in which he has anything positive to say about the team ...all of his posts are bashing wang, snow, and all things Islanders ...why are you even posting here sir? We get it ...you hate the Isles - everything they do is wrong and everything they do will be wrong untill Wang sells the team and they move ...we all get it ...why not just refrain from posting until you have something new to add instead of just spewing the same nonsense daily?
Yours,
Anti-Steady
Anti me aka Duhhhhh -
When they do something positive I mention it.....When they hired Nolan I was all for it. Signing of Witt was great. Really like players such as Witt, DP, Comeau, Hunter, Martinek, KO, and Campoli....I was all for Smith being GM and stated that. This is not like I am complaining just to do so. I am speaking from the heart.
It is not the players (well most of them) or the franchise I have a problem with, it is the new regime...It is the BOBBLEHEADS. I support this team more than you could ever from a few states away. I go to over 12 games a year....I had season tickets while living in NY for 10 years....I can and will say when things are WRONG !!!
What back round does Dey have to be a PR man ? Do you even know how good the previous one was? Do you knwo how hard he worked and what he did for the Isles ?
What back round does Dey have to be a President? The guy is a pawn. A fimly member being thrown a bone.
You will cry when Wanger makes him a GM.......You watch....It will happen!
Wang and Snow are so out of their element it is scary. You keep being led around like sheep....Bahhhhhh bahhhhhhhh. I will not go quietly....When you care about something yo uspeak up. Keep sitting on your hands and be fooled. I am too smart for that!
Typed fast sorry....BACKGROUND is the word...LOL
I don't think anyone would accuse you of not being passionate. I think people would accuse you of being overtly negative. I'm not talking about blindly taking everything the team gives you and saying "thank you may I have another" - however I think you've been taking it to a rediculous level that its gotten to the point that you've stopped talking about hockey and have started complaining about everything Wang related - even when you might be wrong.
I haven't had the chance to look at Dey's resume that is true - but I doubt you have ethier. The only thing I'm going by is what themass also pointed out - his job was to increase tickets sales - and to bring in more corporate clients - which he's done. I can speak on whether he was deserving, but he's done a good job at that. I would like to say that I thought you were joking about your thoughts of Dey becoming GM but your anti-Wang speeches lead me to believe that you actually think it ...
My only advise to you is this - if you can't focus on the fact that Wang saved the team from moving, has invested - and will continue to invest a lot of time/money in the team then you should just boycott them - don't post here, don't watch on tv - dont come to the 12 games that you come to ...you clearly aren't enjoying this team under this regime right now - so don't be a part of it ...put your money where your mouth is ...
If you can't see that every great GM or coach had to start somewhere then its ok - even your great Nolan had to have a 1st NHL job ...even all of the great GMs had to have a 1st GM job ...
I wish you all of the best, because it must stink to feel the way you're feeling ...but like I said - protest ...
The fact that the Isles incresed ticket sales is a smokescreen. How many of those tickets were full price tickets that were sold and how many were so called "Fan Zone" tickets sold for a whopping ten bucks or ten cents on the dollar.
I can tell you that the people (like me) who shelled out real money for season tickets were pissed off at the Isles selling better location seats than we had,for about a quarter of what we were paying.
And how many "Fireman" or "Police" or "Hempstead Town" nights were there where cheap tickets were sold?
Yes, tickets sales may have been up,but 110.00 face value tickets were being sold for ten bucks.
Thats the kind of creative bookkeeping that kept Wang one step ahead of a Federal Grand Jury.Ask Kumar.....Sir William
William, I don't recall anyone talking to you regarding this topic. You enjoy posting just for the sake of seeing your name. I was talking to Steady because while I'm "anti" his posts over the past year I still believe he is knowledgeable - you are just someone who loves to post for postings sake.
Speak when spoken to.
Yours,
Anti-Steady
BIG PS for William - on a more serious note ...
This why I'm glad people like Dey, and not you, are in charge of such things ...let me give you a free lesson ...
The main idea with all of the student discounts, and other discounts - such as "kids day", TOH night, firefighter discounts etc. is two fold -
1) The idea is to get people to the game. Maybe people who've never been - let them see a game - have them want to come back - that's how you build a new fan base. I remember when I was in highschool, which was in the early to mid 90's they had $7 student seats up top - and Wang wasn't the owner yet by the way - and it worked. My friends and I were able to see games cheap and became addicted to the Isles and are life long fans - and we ALL four of us now have season tix. Personally I find "Kid Day" annoying - more because I feel bad spewing foul language with all of the kids around but I"m willing to bet that many of those kids will want to come back to another game - and THATS the point ...same thing with all other special "nights" they have ,,,
2) Even when tickets are discounted - such as student tix - they still pay full price for food/drinks - food and drinks they may not have baught without those cheaper tix - because they're a) students and b) might not even be there. So that is another reason - both very important
School's out ...being who you are I doubt you'll be able to acknowledge these points as being valid, but they're accurate.
Your welcome!
Yours,
Anti-Steady
I'm impressed with the anti-Steady handle. Thanks. The Bobbleheads are absurd these days, thats a fact. I do...from time to time...drink wine coolers. Imposter must think Im a drunk.
SW is over the top, but amusing never the less.
Above was the Troll....Shocker!
Anti - Okay let's start with this. I obviously do not want your real name, but how about being a man and posting under your normal "blog name" so we can talk like gentlemen. You obviously read here a lot and have posted in the past under something else.
I have not talked hockey lately b/c there has been NO HOCKEY to talk about. Isn't this what the off-season is all about? You talk about moves the organization is making (or lack there of.) I was not happy with the draft b/c I thought we should of taken one of the blue-chip players. I DID however predict they would take a page out of the Pats and go for Quantity over Quality. I also predicted the new coach would be a NO NAME. I also was against throwing Guerin a bone by getting him his OLD PAL during a YOUTH MOVEMENT which in my opinion is 3 yrs. to late.
I am not trying too toot my own horn, but I am proving a point. I say MY OPINIONS and predictions before they happen. I am not here just to rip every move the team does. I am not MR. NEGATIVE. I do not jump on the bandwagon. I say my peace and lately I have been dead on. Not to hard with these bobbleheads and their sophmoric decisions.
As for Dey....I did not ask you about his resume. That is TOO FUNNY to look at. I asked you if you knew about the man he replaced. The time, effort and respect HE HAD!!! Do some research please. YES, I was talking tongue in cheek about him becoming GM, but NO I would not put it past Wanger. Go look at how he slithered away under a rock and let his other friends do jail time!
Did you know Wanger put his brother in the position of COO of Computer Associates? Did you know he put his second wife in the position of Chief Technical Officer ???? Do some research ANTI and you too can learn these very important things about your owner.....HE IS A CONTROL FREAK....HE IS INSECURE.....HE IS A LIAR !!!!! HE will turn the lights off at NVMC without skipping a breath. Watch !!!
Yes, he bought the team and kept them on LI ..... Since then he has been a meddling moron with ZERO hockey prowess and only sees dollar signs over the Lighthouse Project.
In closing you ask me to not post here and not watch games. That is funny. Althought I argue with some people on here often, that is what a blog is for. YES, I will post here as I live in another state and go no other input about the Isles. YES, I will take my family and friends to around 12 NVMC games a year along with many Bruins game. Love the Isles and love the sport even more.
I know ask you why you hide behind an ANTI-Anybody blog name. Use your regular name. Why do you post here ? Just to put down other people opinions? That is childish. That is not constructive. Get a pure - ORIGINAL thought in your head and then post. Until then do not worry about what I think or write.
Enjoy your day!
Oh Steady,
If you're not writing posts bashing the Isles then you're writing posts patting yourself on the back for making "predictions" that are all pretty obvious and are being talked about in many newspaper articles as possibilites before you've mentioned them ...
And, if you're not writing posts bashing the Islanders ...and you're not writing posts declaring yourself some kind of oracle (funny) then you're posting nonsense in response to a post that you can't answer ...
Why don't you tell me about the guy Dey is taking over for. Who was the team's last president? What did the people in the organization think of him? What are your sources? Who was responsible for sales before Dey? What did the people in the organization think of him - again what are your sources?
Wang is "insecure" and he is a "liar" - are you his psychiatrist? What has he lied about? Sources? How is he insecure? Sources? You can bring up the negatives - or what you think are negatives - about Wang's hirings at CA - but didn't he start that company and earn billions from it? Sounds like he has an idea how to run a business. Why wouldn't he want to see dollar signs with the Lighthouse project. That's just ignorant to think otherwise. I think most owners are concerned with seeing dollar signs ...I find it commical that you are ready to accuse Wang of turning off the light switch yet you want him to sell the team which will almost garauntee the team's departure.
As far as you watching the team - my point to you was a simple one - not shockingly it was lost on you - instead of sitting here retyping the same post repeatedly - just boycott the team until you're happier with their choices. Looks like you're a "bobble" yourself ...
I'll be awaiting the sources I asked for earlier in this post - but I'm sure I'll get the typical steady response of "post under a real name" "i've forgotten more hockey than you'll ever know" "I'm the oracle" or some other brand of avoidance to prove any of you thoughts.
I'm still waiting for you to take Coral up on his offer to meet on opening night - but you've still refused to give your seats out for a visit ...
Yours,
Anti-Steady
Knew I would get it out of you who you were. Too easy. Enjoy your day Ted aka Coral aka wannna be.
No one on here wants you to post. You are simply avoiding every issue I brought up. You want me to answer your questions about who Dey is replacing as Pres, yet you will not answer my questions about the PR man he stole his job from. Too funny Teddy.
And then you bash SW for responding in a polite manner. What's a matter Teddy no friend to play with??
When I get my seats for opening night I will tell you. You honestly think I am scared to give you aka Coral my seat location? Obviously you have never talked to theregs on here about myself. Until then enjoy your pathetic summer cyber tough guy.
Still not an ORIGINAL THOUGHT in your brain huh ? Too many woo woo shots ?
p.s Go back and show me ONE ARTICLE taht said the Isles would trade thier first Drat pick, BEFORE I wrote it.....ONE !!!
Aslo show me ONE ARTICLE saying the Isles would take a no name before I said it.....Again....ONE !!!
Put up or shut time Teddy aka Anti aka Troll aka whatever other sign on you use after you get proven wrong !!!
1) Greg Logan himself wrote an article talking about the possibility of Snow trading down.
2)) You, as predicted by me - the new Oracle - did not answer any of the questions I posed to you because you dont know the answers. You only know how to make blanket statements without any real backup
3) I'm not Coral, but I like many others here found it funny that he called you a girl - you got mad - he then called you out even more and you've ignored him
4) Talking to the regs here about you? What would they say? That you're the real computer tough guy ...that you talk tough to almost everyone on here, but when someone actually threw down a real challenge to meet and "talk" you scared away ...
Well, you've just said to the entire board that when you get your seats for opening night you will post their location ...well ...I'm feeling an Oracle prediction myself - you will not post that location ...you will claim that you couldn't get tickets, or wasn't able to get down here, or you'll give fake location claiming you were there waitng ...something really lame because infact without your keyboard and some "!!!!" and capital letters you're really just a punk ...
Yours,
Anti-Steady
PS - Still waiting on the answers to my question ...and I guess I am the new Oracle, because as I predicted you wouldn't answer my questions to you - just come back at me with more "tough guy" nonsense trying to avoid the fact that you don't really know as much as you'd like to act like knowing ...
steady- just ignore this guy. he posts on all the websited under different names trying to get a rise out of people. the comment you wrote saying he does not have an "original thought." was dead on. he is just a troll. keep fighting the fight
Oh Anti too funny. Again you will not answer any of my questions about who Dey replaced. Again you answer a question with a question.
You asked me too give you proof on Wang and I did. A Zebra does not change his stripes. I showed proof of his past business dealing and what people thougth of him. Google his name and wikepedia and you can read more...Words like "monster" and "tirant" are used.....Go to it computer boy.
I asked you about our former very popular PR man and you are clueless.
You then ask me about who our former President was ??? What in Gods name does that have to do with anything ??? I admit I have no clue. Taht was not my point. My point wa sWHAT DID DEY ever do to deserve it?? What has Dey doen except marry into the wanger family ???
As for Coral calling me a girl and you thinking it funny? Is that really supposed to upset me ?? I came back with a line from the movie SLAP SHOT saying I would bring the oranges and Ice bags if I was not a girl. Since than you have spent your whole pathetic summer obsessing over it. Get over it! No one else even responded to it. Fro all I know Coral is a woman, is a body duilder, is a troll, is 400 lb's, etc. etc.
My seats for opening day are usually sect 205 row B seats 3 and 4.....I get them via people I know.
The reason I told you to ask regular posters about me is b/c they have met me. They know I am a decent guy. They also know the type of peope I go to the games with when not with my family. There is not a person in the world I would be afraid of having a hockey conversation with at a game. I can handle myself. The problem is the people I am with would not view it so nicely. Do the Math.
1) Look at when I posted my prediction about the draft....Long before Logan did....Go check the blogs computer boy! Wrong again!
2) I NEVER named myself the Oracle....Others gave me that name...Kind of like they call you troll!!
3) Okay so maybe you are not Coral or Ceasr or someone else....But where did anyone other than yourself find the comments I was a gril funny? You, obviously have spent your summer thinking it wa funny and non stop posting about it. Others ??? Not so much huh ???
4) I already talked about the regs and howthey know me.
So that is it Anti.......I am done....sorry if you do not like what I write or the opinions I give....Yet, in the end you are REPLYING to my thoughts !! I do not give yours a glimpse or a split second thought, b/c you never offer even ONE original thought....NEVER......So I will move along as should you...If you do not like what Iwrite, I am sure you will use a different name or do what you do....Kind of sad!
No need to reply...You will not read me posting to you again!
Anti is obviously a part of Wangs family. What other person on this planet would argue or call a blogger out for ripping Dey?
Also, he then went on to start up with Sir William and in his rant said Steady wrote very knowledgeable. So which is it? My suggestion would be that everyone ignore him and he will pass along liek a fart in the night.
I have NEVER blogged on any other website or blog site in my life !!! Here and here ONLY will you find comments from me.
ANTI.... Let me answer your second point first. The Islanders make ZERO from concessions and parking at the Coliseum. SMG gets it all. If you were a knowledgeable fan you would have known that. But you have shown your ignorance here.
Second, if you are selling tickets at ten cents on the dollar don't go around beating your chest that ticket sales have increased. All that shows is that you could not sell the tickets at face value and would have had a Coliseum full of empty seats.
Yes , I know that loss leaders are used to introduce fans to the game with the hopes that they will come back and spend money on full value tickets. This is a solid business practice used by most teams. But not every night like the Islanders did.
Let'sdo the math. Selling 3,000 more tickets at 10 bucks each netted the team 30,000 dollars. The face value of these tickets was 300,000 dollars. That's a net loss of 270,000.
So don't go around bragging that ticket sales were way up when all the promo dept was doing was giving them away for peanuts.
You can fool some of the people.......Sir William
Now the troll is ripping cops. How quick people forget what they do for us. I guess the troll was born after 9/11. Just ignore the putz!
ANTI No one here is taking the bait. Move along, now. Nothing to see here, folks...........Sir William
LOGAN -
After the comments made above, this kid must be banned for life. He is obviously a Ranger troll stirring the pot, and more seriously a coward that rips the men and woman that save our lives daily.
