Ottawa advances to the Finals, courtesy of the best line in the NHL: Heatley, Spezza and Alfredsson. Sens were called for five consecutive minors in the thrid period and Sabres scored just once---seconds after a 5-on-3 ended. Ryan Miller did his best in OT, but looked like he was fooled on the series-winner.
Don Maloney is one of three finalists for the Coyotes' GM job, the Arizona Republic reports, and he will return for a second interview with team officials early next week.
Boston Bruins GM Jeff Gorton and Kevin Cheveldayoff, general manger of the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League are the two other finalists.
FYI: To the posters who rail at Kevin Weekes: He won't be traded. He's an unrestricted free agent. He'll land somewhere.

Senators deserved to win this series as Buffalo should feel embarrassed by the way that they played ... not today's game but the first 3 games of this series and how they played uneven most of the playoffs to begin with ... this is why you don't act or think that you are entitled to anything, you go out there and earn it because you will run into another team with equal or superior talent, with as much depth as you and then you will be done .. just like the Sabres were
when the hell are we going to sign Lundqvist
Hey Matty, your here too! I'm glad someone else is enjoying seeing the Sabres loose as much as me,and you know i really didn't hate them before the Rangers played them in the playoffs.I just didn't like their attitude. They acted like someone should just hand them the cup and get it over with, wonder what they are thinking now?

Same thing here Barbara, I never have liked the Sabres coach but the attitude from some of their players ... most notably Ryan Miller and Briere(since they were the ones doing most of the talking) really put me off them. Also the attitude of some of their fans and their media ... it was even funny to me when I heard a bit of the game 4 radio call by the Sabres regular tv guys and the guy went "Sabres are BACK in the series" and I just had to laugh because I was like "Back? Did I miss the part where they are still down 3-1?" had they won today then yeah ... but seeing as they didn't ...
Also for ... ? ... The Rangers last season didn't announce any resignings until AFTER the Stanley Cup Playoffs were over with ...
I was taught never to root against any person or team, but after the way I was treated in Buffalo after game 5 last round, I couldn't wait for the Sabres to lose. And I especially enjoyed that they did so on home ice. Does that make me a bad person?
Mr. Zipay,
Any idea who would be Rangers Asst. GM if Maloney bolted?
Considering that Slats is the only guy who takes more vacations than Dubya, I would hate to see Maloney go, as he seemingly has been running the Blueshirts.
Unfortunately, it's gonna be Messier.
