Some quick hits:
Martin Straka tweaked a hamstring in his first game back after sitting for 15 with a broken finger; he is day-to-day. Ryan Callahan is expected back tomorrow; may make sense to rest Straka against Dallas....
Nigel Dawes had two goals and two assists for the Wolf Pack.
C Joel Lundqvist, Henrik's twin, has been called up by the Stars.
With backup Steve Valiquette playing well in his two starts, and Al Montoya hurt, guess the rumor-mongers can put aside any proposed trades for awhile.
Will Drury's two goals put him back on the right track?
No word yet on whether Greg Moore and/or defenseman Ivan Barnaka have been re-assigned.
What's the over/under on Marek Malik playing again? Against Isles on Thursday?
Later....

Hey Steve, have you heard much about Fabian Brannstrom? Apparently the Rangers are interested in him.
Hey Steve,
is there any chance renney stops using orr and hollweg and uses hossa and maybe dawes on the 4th line. it seems like the 4th line gives up a goal a game.
I am so excited that I get to miss tomorrow's game because I don't have WWOR!!! Between MSG showing sabres games and now this WWOR garbage, I should get to see about 5 games this year!!!!!!! I don't know if this is a cablevison/ time warner decision or MSG but it is beyond frustrating that I have to miss more games than I get to see.
I know that Montoya got hurt a few weeks ago, but is this the same injury or did he reinjure himself?
Matt - re "The Skunk Line," as I call the Betts-- Orr-Hollweg travesty, see my column at www. forumice.com/newyorkrangers, for my posting today about this wash-out trio.
Robby- I think betts should stay he is good for the pk, but I cant stand hollweg. I think hossa should be on the 4th line with betts and someone else. In theory if we stop the other teams best line i think we should in. I think that betts hossa who is a good defesive forward and a third who has shown defensive responsibility can stop the other teams best line. Thus allowing the rangers to win.
Rucchin20, Montoya suffered a back injury when he was kicked in the back by a Toronto player while down making a save a few weeks back. It's continued to be a recurring problem, though he's played a few games through it. But the totally unsubstantiated rumor I heard this week suggests that an MRI done earlier in the week revealed something that could keep him out for a little while.
A partial solution at least to the power play woes is skating in Hartford; if you're concerned about defense then use him only as a pp player for now (a la Courtnoyer in his first seasons with the Habs); Nigel is the only one who can get open consistently in the odd man situation and doesn't waste time releasing his deadly shot; watching the team struggle on Fri. nite vs. the Panthers was frustrating, knowing that we have a young player who could contribute in that spot if we gave him the opportunity
Annonymous,
I figured out a little trick with the Sabres games being on MSG. Get yourself a HDTV and HDTV converter box (if you get digital cable), Sabres are on MSG and Rangers are on MSGHD.
Annonymous,
Also, you can listen in at NHL.com.
