A day after losing to the Islanders, the Rangers called for reinforcements, summoning forward Greg Moore, the Hartford WolfPack's best player this season---for the third time---and defenseman Ivan Baranka for the first time.
Nigel Dawes, who had four goals---three against the Devils---was returned to Hartford.
Moore, a Maine native, will likely make his NHL debut in Florida tomorrow night.
More later....

What a joke! Tell me that is a fair move?? Lets trade Dawes at this point in time since we wont give him a chance. Instead we hang on to Prucha who is absolutely useless!
Dawes has shown himself to be a valuable player with his speed and shot. Why was he sent down? Is Renney insane? The Rangers don't shoot enough to begin with and now we send down the one guy who does shoot it a lot.
In the last week Dawes has been invisible. You notice Prucha (good or bad) every time he's on the ice. Dawes can't even get the puck out of the zone lately. When Dawes has 50+ NHL goals under his belt, then compare him to Prucha.
Prucha plays harder, skates harder, hits harder than Hossa. Stop bashing the guy; he gives it all every shift. I understand being frustrated with a player, but why single out Prucha ? Hossa has ZERO goals and plays with Jagr !!!!
By the way Dawes was not invisible when he scored that big goal on Brodeur !!!
Take a look at this line Dawes-Drury- Prucha.
Pretty sad that Dawes is sent down, yet Hossa, Orr and Hollweg are given a free pass at all times. And what the hell is Renney doing throwing the Betts line out there as a checking line. How many times do we have to see the 4th line out there with 5 minutes to go ???
Effigy - That big goal against Brodeur was how long ago...?
Is it me or is Chris Drury the next Matt Cullen? Love the guy but he doesn't seem like he is playing with the same step he had playing with Buffalo.
Anonymous - glad to see you're another patient fan. Drury will be fine - good of you to be so critical after 1/4 of the year. Cullen was good the 2nd 1/2 of last yr and should not have been traded. He's also been very good with Carolina again. His speed is missed this yr. And should have been given point duty.
I agree with sending Dawes down, he was getting sent down reguardless when Straka came back, so why not see what Moore can contribute in the mean time.
And I'm with all the guys saying that Hossa can take an AHL trip too. I love the guy but around 20 games mostly playing with Jagr... com'n already. He was on a tear at the end of last season, and I was hoping for big things, but it looks like he needs to be reminded that his spot on the roster isnt set in stone.
I think Hossa should be on the bench. I don't think he deserves all the ice time he's getting. He will surely be replaced by Straka when he comes back anyway. Dawes should be sharing time with Orr who we don't need every night. That will open up the spot Callahan will need when he gets back. The 4th line is getting too much ice time. Their playing ok but it takes away time from players who need to get going already. Jagr doesn't play hard unless he has the line mates he wants. We have all seen him take control of a game when he wants too. He should be doing that every night. Not only when he feels like it. I couldn't even tell he was in the game against the Isles untill the 3rd period. The power play is inexcusable. Shoot the puck already. It's not rocket science for christ sake. Alot of holes in this team still. Sather better get busy cause we wont be in first place for long if we keep not scoring enough.
