Blue Notes: Dawes back in Hartford

As some of you may already know---just arrived home from our brief holiday in northern Vermont---Nigel Dawes was sent down, which gets the Rangers to 23, with Sean Avery healthy.

Brendan Shanahan didn't practice today, but nothing serious.

I expect a full-scale battle tomorrow in Air Canada Centre, thanks in part to Avery's comments, which were in the papers today.

Not sure whether Vesa Toskala (groin) will play, which would probably mean Andrew Raycroft in the net for the Leafs.

Flying up in the AM, will report from there....

Dan, put this on the previous thread but just in case you missed it, get yourself an Amtrak credit card and ride free on Amtrak. Only 2:20 from Rensaeullear to Penn Station and you are right there.

Regarding Dawes, he isn't a liability, Immonen wasn't a liability. The only liability is the coach. To paraphrase Clinton-like..."It's the coach, stupid."

What do you mean "free ride"? All I have to do is have an Amtrak Credit Card? What is it, a mastercard, visa? The only people I know to ride Amtrak for free are State Troopers on assignments in the city.

Look for Tucker vs Avery. Tucker was in the lineup vs Philly. He should be tonight! I will be attending the Rats game tonight to see SpongeBob SquarePants for the rugrat. I will catch it in Rangers in 60

Dan, you accumulate points, one point for each dollar spent on your Amtrak credit card. From Rensaulleur to Albany round trip is 6000 points round trip. Depending how much you spend per month, you might get there fast plus when you open the card, they give you bonus points which just may be enough to make one trip free.

How far are you from the train station in Rensaullear?

Dan, my apologies, the comments number isn't updating on the main page so didn't see your last post on the previous thread. Wish I was within walking distance, 60 miles for me.

Here's the link for the card.

I'm planning to meet some guys in NY on 1/22 and will be cashing in some points for the tickets. Good luck!

Lenny - if Immonen was that good some other team would have jumped al over him before he went back to Europe. that train has left the station.

Amtrak?? :)

60 Miles? You must not be south of the station. It would be quicker to catch the Amtrak in Poughtown or Hudson and less expensive. Where are you in the Berkshires? I'm in Rensselaer, almost East Greenbush, just west of the station, about a mile and a half, maybe two.
