Great minds...(ahem)

Danny: Honestly never saw our Mr. Brooks recent suggestion on a Rangers' Hall of Fame, but to be fair, the concept was openly discussed back when No. 11 was retired as well.

To Larry and his fans (which I'm one, we schmooze at practice and on the road all the time), if you're offended this time, mea culpa.

Greg and others who emailed, thanks all for your comments on the Leetch night live blog, and yeah, I saw the "Bryan" sign. To take in everything and convey the atmosphere quickly was tricky, but yeah, I couldn't include everything. Thought all the newspapers/online coverage of the event and the game was quite good.

Laurie: I'm not sold on these Montoya rumors either, but at some point, with Lundqvist in the fold long-term, do you re-sign Al, an RFA, for big money as a backup?

Gotta run. Putting together my weekly NHL Insider for Sunday and something on Scott Gomez, the Rangers lone All-Star rep.

See ya tomorrah...

Wait, they seriously misspelled Brian Leetch? Bryan? Are you KIDDING me? Imagine what Leetch thought to himself when he looked up at the corner scoreboard and saw that his first name was spelled incorrectly. This is so bad, it's good.

hey steve, i was wondering if its possible to find out what all the video messages said. When they were played at the garden you couldnt hear because the crowd would erupt and then you couldnt hear what they were saying. thanks

"Congratulations to Brian Leetch on a well earned honor this evening.
One of those rare classy and talented sports figures that do come around once in a while.
Enjoy the evening and the honor Mr. Leetch"

What can I say - very classy post by you. I haven't read the comments area here in a while due to being busy plus all the negativity. but I did re the Leetch posting and certainly want to acknowledge you for your comment. AND OF COURSE ACKNOWLEDGE BRIAN AS WELL.

Rangers shouldn't trade Montoya until they resign Henrik to a long-term contract. If he is here, Sather can use the threat of him taking over Hank's job as a bargaining chip to give him a lower contract. Without Montoya in the background, Don Meehan will get a huge contract for Hank.

Thanks....
I even spelled his name correctly

lenny,
I was in the section that had the frat boys in it. I think it was Kappa Epsilon. I don't remember what the section number was. I was basically right where Bourret shot the puck from on the goal.

Dan, I was in 106 with 3 other guys. Same side Bourret scored but right by the blue line.on the other end.

Good analysis on the game although I expected more offense from them.

They did get some O, just no points. They had tons of shots, but none were quality. The problem was, as I said, the big line played way too much with the puck besides Moore. The goal I think was all because of him. The D was solid but there was no outstanding play besides the blocked shots on the 6-4 with Leighton pulled, and it never should have happened because LIffiton should have kept his mouth shut. No control. He might have a better shot at making a club with less young talent, he's got to compete with Staal, Girardi, Sauer, Sanguinetti, Baranka, Busto, and Potter, with a couple of vet D-men taking roster spots although Rosie may find himself the odd man out if he starts asking for the big bucks without giving the playoff production in return. The bottom line is, we are way to hard on them for not playing the kids with the exception of Dawes, Moore, and Cally. I stick with my statement that I think the rest just aren't ready, at least from what I saw...and Al sat the bench. Not really what you want a bargaining chip doing in a big game between two, top of their division teams. Those rumors are just that. Rumors. He isn't going anywhere until they sign Hank, and Hank isn't going anywhere until they extend Al. Wiikman was good but I think he needs to do a little better if he's turn NHL scouts heads.

Something else about the game...Jim Schoenfeld was there. Maybe they are looking to unload someone. A little scouting on the Canes methinks.
