even tho all these teams keep winning we are still in the drivers seat, we have games in hand on evryone ahead and behind us. obviously you gotta win them or theyre useless. i still belive we can catch ottawa and jersey for home ice in the 1st rd. catching pitt for the 2 seed isnt far fetched provided we sweep the home and home.

im begiining to think that ottawa of all teams may be our "easiest" 1st rd match-up. they have only one line that can score, and they have goalending issues. i want no part of washington who really are playing well, overchkin is a scary dude to face right now and carloina better watch out. therefore the 4th seed wold be wonderful to get and the 5th seed would be better than the 6 IMO...what y'all think?

I agree that Ott may be the best first rd matchup. Carolina is always a problem as Renneys style doesn't fit well against the Carolina counter attacking system. And Ward seems to be on the potential hot strek that would make him a big problem for the playoffs, best to avoid Carolina in the first rd, and if Was makes it no one wants to get them in the first rd, but you must admit a Was/Mtl matchup in the first rd is as good as it gets from a watching perspective. Obviously playing the Devils in the first rd is not something the Rangers would want even though they have the great record against, face it this series would probably produce 4 OT games or possibly more and OT is both a coin flip plus it really fatigues a team for RD 2. I think Ott is the best opp for the 1st rd, of course Home ice would also be of great benefit as well. Rnagers need to sweep Isles and split with Pitt and beat the Devs and 4th place is very likely.
