Habs passing on sundin and Hossa? What did they do to get better? They lost Ryder and Striet. They got worse. Jagr maybe? Also any rumors about moving Hollweg,Prucha and backman Yet.

Exactly where would you expect Prucha and Hollweg to be moved too? They are basically unmovable. They have no market value. Hoolweg has 2 goals in 3 years, and Prucha has continued to decrease his production consistently. Last season was the time to move Prucha that window closed and he isa best a throw-in for trade purposes. Hollweg is not even a throw-in. Of couse Backman has some value yet I don't thin kthere are any plans to trade him, he will be staying. Look for Backman and Rozi to be teamed together along with Redden/Staal and Girardi/Tyutin. Hutchison makes arun and becomes the 7th wheel.

With his defencies in hiw own end, the Habs probably improved letting Streit go. He was their 7th d-man during the playoffs, receiving just 14 minutes a game. The stuck him on the 4th line when they weren't on the PP.

I think Hollweg will move to Hartford.

His salary is low, he could be waived, he is certainly not a trade candidate, but with the additions from yesterday and the kids coming up, no more Hollweg.

First of all don't even try and move Backman. Just dump his salary and add that 2.3 mil to the cap. After his performance on the Rangers last year I doubt anyone wants him. Second of all the Rangers are obviously looking to make a big splash via a trade. You just don't sign guys like Vorros and Rissmiller for the no reason. They have two empty wings surrounding Gomez on the top line, and I doubt(and hope) Sather doesn't plan on filling those holes with guys like Korpikoski and Prucha. They might have more luck making a trade if they didn't waste Montoya on mediocre Hartford fill-ins last year. I've been talking about getting Hossa for years now. Again going back to last year, they would have a much better chance of landing him if they would have kept Marcel somewhere in the system. Who's gonna turn down family?
