The two former Isles take a major step to going deep in the playoffs....
Both one-year deals; Satan $3.5, Tank $2.5
Fleury locked up for seven, I believe
Well, that closes the door on Pittsburgh for Jags, we assume....

Why hasn't sather looked at signing George Laroque. He is the toughest man in hockey. Orr has heart and good hands but can't really handle the bigger heavy weights, and that would not be a problem for George since he is the heavy weight champ!
that's assuming he hasn't, maybe Sather has looked at him and was turned down or felt the asking price was too steep... the majority of us only know what little they leak out to the reporters, I'm sure there's lots more tire-kicking going on than we'll ever know
interesting development: dan boyle asked to waive no-trade... http://blogs.tampabay.com/lightning/2008/07/lightning-asks.html
Boyle makes no sense as Rozsival, Redden, and Girardi are pretty much all the offense we need and Sanguinetti might play very soon.
Pittsburgh overpaid for both of them. Any word on Naslund? I heard Pitt, NYR, Vancouver and Minn were the four teams he was considering, and I have to assume the Pens are out of the running now.
can anyone provide a list of potential hartford/minor league players that have a realistic shot of making the team, and how they would fit, what they do well/what they dont do well, etc
i dont know as much since i dont live in ny anymore, so if anyone can fill me in that would be great
thanks
vince, What do you mean Colton Orr can't handle the heavyweights? He rarely gets beat, and when he does the other guy knows he was in a fight! Yeah, he has not really beaten Laraque, but who has? That is why Laraque is "the champ".Orr is a very good fighter, that knows when to drop them. Yeah, Boogard would smash him, but name me a few others...
