Steve, thanks for keeping us posted. I can't wait to hear the news and am getting anxious about Jagr.

Where are all those people who were calling for Sathers head and telling him to wake up? I bet a million dollars not one of you even considered a trade like the one Sather just pulled off. A top line big, young 4th overall winger for Tyutin and Backman?????? Wow, I was at work and saw the first post a couple of threads ago and I swear I thought it was a troll posting what they thought was a funny joke.

I am very disappointed we didn't get Orpik, especially when you see him sign for $3.75...I have to believe Sather made an equal or better offer than that. The only thing I can think of is that Sather has something up his sleeve...maybe a Bouwmeester trade? My other concern is the cap down the road when we have guys like Staal and Dubinsky ready to resign for big $$$. So far so good, I think Rangers are making some smart moves and keeping the youth. There's always the chance that things go haywire but that's the risk you run when you love a NY team!!

well, whats being said?

Joke,

best trade Sather has made, bar none, as Rangers GM

Columbus is out of their minds

i agree good trade, although i would have maybe liked to keep tyutin and only had to sign 1 more D-man, but im sure another midlevel FA is available and someone from hartford can come up and be staal part II :)

from what i've been reading about the wingers we've gotten, seems like we've added more skill and similar styles of play...so hopefully no more east-west, see what jagr does, dont attack the net kind of style

maybe now rosival will shoot on the PP more and our bigger wingers deflect in some shots...ya know how zubov/leetch/graves used to do it :)

Dude,

This trade looks extremely lopsided with huge potential for Zherdev to be a star in NY. But only because of the impact Avery had when he got here and for what we gave up to get him, I will have to hold off on deeming this the best trade. I'll get back to you hopefully after Zherdev hits the 40 goal mark.

WE JUST SIGNED MATS SUNDIN...TWO YEARS AT 8 MIL PER, HELOOO STANLEY CUP. SEE TSN TRACKER...POSTED AT 6:34pm.

Good trade I guess, but where does Fritche fit in?

And why are Hollweg and Betts still here?

Bullsh1t!!

Only a year ago Zherdev only had a 10 goal season, not absolute sure fire player by any means.

yea i've been checking tsn and everywhere else for the sundin news, maybe zip can put this one to rest

The Pens are giving Orpik too much. He's a solid stay-at-home defenseman, but he's not worth the $4 million a year it would have taken to get him out of Pittsburgh. He's cashing in on all the hype he got during the playoffs.

We just landed Sundin, per TSN Two years with an option for 8.25 mik a year. Heard also that we got Zherdev as Jagr may go to Montreal.
