Sundin: I need time

Center Mats Sundin won't be coming to the Rangers or the Canucks or Canadiens or anyone today.

"I spent a great deal of time yesterday reflecting upon the teams who stepped forward and the opportunities that each provided," said Sundin, 37, in a statement released by his agent. "Unfortunately, I am simply not close to being ready to make a decision about resuming my career at this time. I wish all the teams the very best and thank them for their interest."

"The numerous options provided to me were impressive and I have no doubt that each one presented a unique opportunity for me to finish my career in a terrific hockey environment."

Sounds as if he's not going to Vancouver or he would've grabbed to $20 million, two-year deal. But he may lose some suitors along the way as teams may be forced to look elsewhere...

This guy is a big Wuss. He could have left toronto and won a cup in detroit or played playoff hockey. He is soft. I would stay away from this big softie.

the rangers have 0 choice now they have nobody to score any goals, they let hossa get away without an offer, let avery go sather stinks,he has no choice he must sign sundin

What kind of spell does Toronto put on their players? It's like the Scientology center for the NHL. You enter and don't want to leave even though you're wasting your career. What the heck is Sundin doing?

it must be the great clubs in toronto they don't want to leave
