The Rangers prospects won the tournament last year against seven other young NHL squads. The players set for next month's tourney are:

Gomez and Roszival
For
Jack Johnson, O’Sullivan, D. Brown

Gomez and Roszival
For
Pyatt, Burrows and Ohlund

Sundin, 1st rounder, and O'Sullivan >>> Gomez(and his crazy cantract), Prucha, and Betts

I would kill to get Dustin Brown, I would be willing to overpay to get him.

Joe Barnes is still around? I thought he sropped off the face of the earth without any trace... What injury(s) happened to him last season?

Zherdev, Rosival Betts for Boumeester 2nd rd

yeah, and while you are all at it, let's trade Gomez, Drury, Zherdez, Rosival, Naslund, for all draft choices and start all over again....THIS is the way some you you actually think...you just don't make any sense whatsoever. I have a better suggestion, why don't you leave well enough alone...don't YOU think Sather did enough already????????????????????????????????????? or are a few of you graduates of Traders Phils School of Trades?

Sandy...yeah, thanks...just wanna get on w/training camp already....way too many armchair GM's 'ya know. The only thing we really need is another Buekeboom, and that's it. If a really good DMan falls into our laps, I say we trade Dude, Effgy and Bob and a conditional 6th round draft choice to be named later....haha;-D, ....otherwise, seriously, let's stay focused with the new players we aquired....Ok, so what is the 'Dude'ster doing on the Isles site?...causing problems I bet!

I don't know the guy at all really but I would be very surprised if the real "Dude" was on the isles blog starting trouble. Unfortunately his handle is a popular one for the trolls to steal and put up instigating posts both here and over there.

Anyway, RE: the Gomez trade rumors....Gomez does have a limited movement clause where he gets to list the teams he would accept a trade to and something tells me that Vancouver and LA would not have been on the list. So while I would LOVE to see Kopitar skating around in a Rangers jersey, I just don't think it's happening.

I am leaning towards the belief that the Rangers and Sundin are waiting for the new league contract to include the over 35 yr old bonuses to then be able to sign Mats to a low base/ high bonus contract. Just my opinion...I've said before that I think he would know by now if he wanted to retire or sign with another team that has the cap room already available. So it seems like all indications point to him waiting for Sather to make room or for the new league contract to go in effect.

Hey,

I actually didn't post at all yesterday, so any posts, especially on the Isles blog are definitely not me.

Anze Kopitar is just a notch below Crosby and Ovechkin in my book and the Kings will never trade him, that's utter silliness.

It still drives me crazy that people are always so willing to want to trade the core of this hockey team.... We didn't finish that bad last year, and I personally think we are better team than last year.

Joke,

The actual terms of Gomez NTC are that at the end of each year, he has to give the Rangers 3 teams he can't be traded to, that's it.

I can't imagine he would make Vancouver one of the 3 teams he can't be traded to, considering it's the closest NHL city to his Alaskan home.

Who knows though, it's only a rumor and the chances of the Rangers trading him are very slim at best.

We need hockey to start, dying over here!

Tickets in the 300's are now up to $60.00 + service charges.

3-4 years ago, it was $40.00 for tickets in the 300's. Now, you cant even buy a hockey ticket for 40 bucks since tix in the 400's are $42.50.

Why was there a lockout again ? Was it really worth paying up the wazoo for 2 centers who arent even in the top 10 at their position ? Was it worth paying a 30 year old defenseman on the decline for $6.5 million for 6 years !??

...totally agree with you Joke, if Sundin wanted to play for Vancouver he would have jumped on that offer by now. The NHLPA will obviously extend the CBA in the next 2 weeks( its their option), then those incentive contracts will be back on the table clearing the way for a Shanahan like deal for Sundin. As far as the contracts of Gomez and Drury, thats theprice you pay for not lucking into Crosby or drafting one of those top 10 players.

I presume F Siarhei Dzemahin = SERGEI DEMAGIN

WOLF PACK SIGN FORWARD SERGEI DEMAGIN
Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack has signed forward Sergei Demagin to an American Hockey League contract.

Eklund said that the word on Gomez and Sundin would be out TODAY.
But, today he says that the trade for Gomez is panning out and that Montrael is the Mats front runner.

The guy is a spindoctor man! He's a MF joke.

See suckers, the guy got you all spun up for nothing.

is there anyone out there that actually pays attention to eklund???

NO...I only listen to what Steve Zipay brings to the table..or TSN directly...I dunno Eklund and from what I have read from you guys, I don't ever intend to! Although I don't want it, I do believe Sundin will become a Ranger...hey, it's NEW YORK and NY has always done things in a big way.....many times, the wrong choice but w/a big name on B'way, we can expect him here sad to say!

icehole - keep in mind that incentves will count against the following years cap. there is no such thing as a free lunch. we are far from a cup team this yr. so lets not impact our cap for the following yr in a misguided attempt.

i realize that li joe. but with montreal saying that sundin hasnt expressed interest in them it sounds like a one horse race. this is the Rangers way of doing things for right or wrong. many think rosival is a gonner sooner rather than later. i disagree. rosy will likely be dealt before next season for cap space much like tyutin and backman, to a team that nobody wants to sign with (florida when they lose Jbo?). Zherdev is another guy that if he doesnt fit in well and acclimate will be here for a short time, though i hope he does finally realize his potential here

Icehole,

Find it interesting you ask about Eklund. Was that sarcastic or are you looking for people that actually take that guy seriously?

Go over to the site today and see a perfect example of why he is considered a clown.

BIG NEWS COMING OUT OF SWEDEN TODAY!
Don't hold your breathe he probably won't post again until about 2pm tomorrow.

What did he miss?

Sakic is going back to the Avs this year.
Real News. Just broke on a smaller site that I give a ton more credit too.

sarcastic. very sarcastic.

I was hoping so...lol

I was over at that site and reading through the comments under the latest story it seems that not many members of the guys own site give him credit at all.

He is chasing "sources" and "rumors" and (E1000)'s that as real stuff happens he has no clue.
