Really couldn't get more perfect of a weekend than that.

The Rangers controlled the play for about 80% of the weekend, Henrik looked really solid, healthy and came up big time whenever he was needed.

The team looks fast, super fast, please no Shanahan posts this week, PLEASE!!

I am not looking for a 39 year old to come in here and slow everything down again.

Rangers played great, very dominating at times. They need to score some goals though! Anyone else thinks Dawes seems out of place with Dubi and Zherdev? Only negative thing from this road trip was the defense... Seems awful soft and slow, hopefully this wont have a negative effect on the team this year. Kalinin reminds me of Malik unfortunately.

I don't know how anyone could have a problem with the defense this weekend.

The team gave up 38 shots in 2 games.

I thought they played absolutely stellar defense all weekend.

Redden, Girardi and Roszival all played very well.

Staal might be a little hurt still, didn't play a whole lot of minutes.

I thought Kalinin looked pretty good on Sunday and Mara has played great with Staal....some folks just need something to complain about!

News from Minnesota that contract talks with Gaborik have hit a stand still....deadline of sign or trade by opening night is doubtful.

Not to be mean or anything but were you on Shrooms when you watched the Rangers Defense this weekend? They played very well and looked very Poise. Kalinin had a rough first game but there is nothing you could say about the Ranger's defense in either game that should give you any concern. They pinched when they needed to join the offense. They kept a team that basically is all offense to like 9 shots through 2 periods, and I think they only had 3 in the first period alone. I don't want to get ahead of myself but what defense in the East would you take over the Rangers after watching the games this weekend. That is one thing Ranger Fans don't really have to worry about. Especially with Hank in net.
If there is any thing to be concerned about its that for every 20 shots we only had one goal to show for it. That needs to improve. The Rangers should have won 4-1 on Saturday and 7-1 on Sunday. For some reason every goalie we play they look like Hasek Brodeur and Roy all in one. lol.

I have been down on this team this year. But I have to say that they were fun to watch Sunday. Saturday was a snooze fest. But these guys were electric Sunday. The speed is awesome. Mara was good. Surprisingly good. The only problem I see is that they are not physical at all. Dawes and Prucha are as good as gone. I think the Rangers are gonna make a move this week.

Dawes is invisible. Prucha too..

Kalinin and Mara both played much better, mainly cause of the players they played with. Playing with Girardi gives Kalinin the freedom offensively since Girardi is so freakin good! He plays the 2 on 1 so well. Mara with Staal was always a good pair. They played well last year and showed it again sunday. Its amazing how much better King Henrik looks now than he did in the preseason. Voros has earned himself a chance at the second line after that play for Gomezs goal. He worked the puck out and its cause of him that goal happened. We look amazing overall, and Busey you said it, both Dawes and Prucha look invisible. Prucha should just be traded or sent down. Let him test the market as a RFA, if someone signs him atleast well get something in return. Dawes should be put on the 3rd line. Its more of his style, and would really improve that lines defense. A line of Cally Korpi Dawes is sick and would play hard every night, no questions asked. Fritsche should be in the lineup, and im not a fan of Betts but he looked good, but after every chance he had and didnt score i just kept thinking of that Fritsche shot during the preseason when he was coming down and ripped a slap shot over the shoulder and in. If we take Prucha out then Fritsche can play on the 4th line with Betts and Orr. And if Betts starts to suck throw sjostrem in and move Frtische to the middle.
Looking forward to friday night, home we run them out the building and come home showing everyone we hardcore can score.
