Another shot for Petr Prucha, who skated on the left of Lauri Korpikoski and Ryan Callahan...Prucha has played only the two games in Prague...."Pete just plays hard, he's always a good contributor in different ways, we'd like to see him feel good about contributing offensively. We'll take the rest of it no matter what," said coach Tom Renney...Could it be a showcase for a trade?....The other lines and d-pairs look the same. So Nigel Dawes, Pat Rissmiller (who skated for the first time in three days) and Dan Fritsche are scratches...

Gord Redden, who was at the skate, was escorted around Manhattan Sunday by his youngest son, Wade, and his wife. "We walked around a bit, nothing too strenuous," Wade said. It was the elder Redden's first visit to New York, and they toured in anonymity, a major reversal from Ottawa, where Redden played for 11 years and where his dad visited four or five times a season. "I just followed," said Gord, who took in the West Side sights. "I think he and Danica are ready for this."

Despite the 5-0 start, the No. 1 line of Scott Gomez, Markus Naslund and Chris Drury haven't been productive 5-on-5 since Prague. "Trying to manufacture a little too much, trying to set up the perfect goal," said Renney. "These guys want badly to make a difference in the game and they've got to understand that each shift is a process in itself. It'll come."

The Rangers' Russian scout and former defenseman Vladimir Lutchenko attended the Alexei Cherepanov funeral today and European scouting director Christer Rockstrom and scout Jan Gajdosik were in the process of trying to acquire Russian visas to attend remembrance services next week. Renney said he had sent emails to Jaromir Jagr and Omsk coach Wayne Fleming, but told them to reply on their own time.

Im thinking of trading Gomez for Dubinsky in my fantasy hockey league. The captain line hasn't done much. Some days, you look at Gomez and he just doesn't seem to be into the game 100%.
Gomez had the flu so he hasnt been so effective these last couple games. I have both him and Dubinsky in fantasy and im looking to trade gomez. He just doesnt fill up the stat sheet the way Dubinsky does. Dubinsky will get you more penalty minutes, more goals, possibly more assists, and probably more shots.
Don't do it would be my advice.
You have to think that the first line will come together and the second will come back down to earth.
No?
Fantasy point of view here.
You can think that but Dubinsky will always be getting you points, shot and penalty minutes hes played in so many situations. Gomez also but Dubinsky can do more with the puck and will get you more goals. Long term i think Dubinsky will end up with better fantasy stats than gomez.
Just my opinion
