Cornell basketball returns to its rightful place: first

Cornell defeated Dartmouth, 75-59, this Friday night to improve to 11-0 in the Ivy League and clinch a tie for the league title.

Saturday night will be one of the biggest in recent Cornell sports history, as the basketball team routs Harvard to clinch the outright title and its first NCAA Tournament berth since 1988, while next door the hockey team pummels Harvard - its most bitter rival - as well.

(I'm not clear on why Cornell's season sweep of second-place Brown in hoops hasn't already clinched the title, but no matter. It's better this way.)

Congratulations, Big Red, and thank you for making me look good.

WatchDog guarantee: Cornell will win Ivy hoops title

As you all no doubt know by now, Cornell pounded Columbia in men's basketball on YES Saturday night.

The Big Red put a mild scare into Duke recently, too.

Let the word go forth from this time and place: Cornell is going to win the Ivy League title for the first time since 1988, when Arizona lucked out in a first-round NCAA Tournament game and won, 90-50.

Remember where you read it first.

Ya know Neil.................

Until I see a decent looking member of the female sex in a scantily clad outfit with Wrigley Field caliber ivy dripping off of her bare right shoulder, I just can't get excited by mindless aspirational ramblings about greater glory for your old school.

Glauber's community college from Swampwater Alabama has comparable potential.

Pete Carill and the back door give and go, was and will always be a better lead-in to high brow roundball.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Both my parents' alma mater! They went to a couple of games since all the hockey games were sold out and who wants to camp out in the dead of Ithaca fall/winter to get tickets anyway?

Oh Neil, Deitsch showed you some love a while back:

Thanks, CMG. I saw that. Deitsch has been very nice to me over the decades.

Sorry. Mediocrity knows nothing higher than itself, but talent instantly recognizes genius. Help me! There is an urgent need for sites: Bachelor of science degree careers. I found only this - bachelor Degree in safety.
