Cablevision/Newsday deal raises interesting questions

21266_1166556429.jpgHere is another story on the topic of the potential minefield Newsday will walk as it covers Cablevision and its various properties moving forward.

This one is by us.

I didn't have Cablevision as a kid. At the time I didn't know or care how the cable business worked, of course. All I knew was that when I turned on my TV the Rangers and Knicks were on it and the Islanders and Nets were not.

Which is how I became a Rangers fan despite living in East Northport.

I am stating the obvious, but there would not be this big concern if Cablevison had not acted this way before in regards to the MSG network and media relations at the Garden. I am not sure how News 12 has handled Cablevison and Garden situations in the past. Looking at that News organization may give us a better feel for how Newsday will operate. But listen Best if I see you doing puff pieces on MSG, the Knicks or the Rangers...or IF I am going to see a different Rockett pictured daily...I am riding you out of town on a rail!

Trust me, RWH, if Neil has to do puff pieces on MSG, the Knicks or the Rangers, he'll ride himself out of town on a rail!
