Rangers-Pens a big draw on TV, by hockey standards

ratellebild.jpgSome belated ratings stuff from the Rangers-Pens series last week:

Game 4 was Versus' highest-rated and most-viewed NHL telecast ever, drawing 1.1 percent of homes that have the network and 1.2 million viewers.

In New York, the game attracted 2.1 percent of homes, the highest-rated NHL game Versus has shown here. The network also was the top-rated cable channel in the New York market for that time period.

Awfully cheery numbers, Best. Thanks for the context from a league that has taken away my sport because I, along with millions of others, do not get Versus.

I didn't realize that Jean Ratelle came out of retirement to play against the Pens in Game 4; no wonder the Rangers won that one.

ARGHHHHH....
I got beat to the punch again on Ratelle...Too busy on Logan's blog with Draft day trade scenarios with the Ranger fans....
But thanks for at least doing this at a reasonable hour of my morning.

The numbers for VS would have been oh so much higher if Glauber had access to Versus

I agree!

Yet weren't they outnumbered ratings wise by the hideous Celtics-Hawks game?
