I'm way too buy obsessing over Mike Francesa and Chris Russo to get involved with another Don Imus imbroglio, but since this one involves a sports figure I guess I might as well post it.

Maybe Imus meant that Pacman Jones' race was a factor in his rap sheet in the sense that black men often are treated more aggressively than white men are by the police. I'm pretty sure that's what it was. Imus is not an idiot.

Right before that comment, he was talking about Johnny Millers apology. I think he was just making a joke on a comedy show. How silly. People are outraged over a show that has two comics an old man with a cowboy hat, and a big fat guy dressed as Larry King. Please can someone put some context into his comments. Imus should be treated like Charles Barkley when it comes to making stupid comments. Its just Don being Don. I wish people were more offended that pacman has committed 6 crimes and 2 nfl players were arrested just yesterday.

He probably wanted to know if he was African American to figure out if he could comment on it or not. Right after Warner mentioned he was African American he didn't make any jokes or anything about him.

The ironic thing is that the same people that are calling Imus a racist are rightfully calling George Carlin a genius. One of Carlins jokes that just aired on access hollywood was Carlin talking about how "he doubts a lot of bagpipers are addicted to crack". Don Imus does a comedy show and he would be a racist if he ever said something like that. Whats the difference?

Charles Barkley is funny, honest, and even at his worst did not refer to somebody by their aesthetic, rap sheet, or the stereotype of the types of jobs a certain race has. Don Cherry is the same way and also white without biracial marriage or whatever stupid logic some of you are using.
This Adam Jones comment is worse now because Don Imus did not apologize, as he did with the Rutgers women's basketball team.
That is, Imus is looking silly now "backtracking" and talking stupid stating that, in part, that the problem is that Jones got arrested six times and probably only did one thing wrong, and that was the foundation of Imus' question about Jones' race.
As a human being and law enforcement officer, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. If Jones violated the law on six separate respective occasions, then he should be arrested for each crime.
I have not read what Bob "Company Man" Raisman has written on this subject, or Phil Mushnick.
