Cablevision's purchase of Newsday became official this afternoon!
I assume Stephon Marbury, Al Trautwig and that guy from the iO commercials will be coming by with a welcome basket any time now.
Anyway, I promise you, dear readers, that I will remain objective on matters that involve my new company.
The fact "MSG, NY," "MSG Vault" and "Pants-Off Dance-Off" are my three favorite shows is purely coincidental.

Wow, a big exclamation point at the end there, Mr Best. You sound so excited. I love your column!
My condolences. I just saw a headline that Steve Mills has been demoted, he's not your new editor-in-chief or Publisher is he?
Don't knock Pants Off Dance Off.
I'm sure your Ipod is loaded with music by JD and the Straight Shot.
Your reporting will not be what CBS Sports did briefly in the mid 70s: have the cameras pan in on the end zone banners and have its broadcaster read the ones saying NFL on CBS hostesss "Phyllis George is more beautiful than Dandy Don Meredith". Think of all the hours the average tickey buyer (who didn't even have the privelege of paying $20,000 for a PSL seat) spent at home making those signs.
It will be as unbiased as when some underdog team faces a mighty Cornell team in the NCAA playoffs.
Mr. Best congratulations, when is the Cablevision welcoming party? We shall see if your journalistic integrity remains. Will you write critically of Dolan in your blog and in print?
It usually does not happen, when is the last time Mushnick has criticized anything connected to Rupert Murdoch??
Hope this doesn't change you Neil.
So does this mean you get free iO, OOL and OV like other Cablevision employees now? If so then you can spring for a HDTV with the money you'll save each month.
Nice knowing you Best.
Just let your bosses know that if they turn this into a pay site, they will have at least one less reader.
