Mike Francesa coyly refers to potential split with Russo
Mike Francesa, back in the WFAN studios for the first time since mid-June, opened the show today with another coy reference to the future of his partnership with Chris Russo, or lack thereof.
Here's a transcript, then I have to get back to work:
"Our next show together will be Aug. 5, to give somebody something else to debate about or muse about or to think about, come up with some scenarios for that one, on Aug. 5 up at Giants camp. Then we'll move it down to Bar A later in the month of August to give everyone a chance to debate about that one and kind of come up with some scenarios for that one. That one's been called the good-bye show by a lot of people I've noticed here and there. That has been termed that all summer. I have heard that referenced in different places. So stay tuned for that."
Hmm. Interesting.

Who on FAN is racist? can you cite specific examples, or are you content to throw unsubstantiated, baseless accusations out there?
Jonathan: There is substance to the claim that Mike and Chris have demonstrated (possibly subconscious) racism in the past. Example: immediately jumping to conclusions about Sean Taylor's murder. They assumed it was because of who he was surrounding himself with, things he had done in the past. They started talking about how there were a lack of father figures for 'these guys' (you can infer). Police soon said it was a random incident. There are other examples.
Oh bull. Many NFL players come from fatherless homes from impoverished neighborhoods. They checking out gang signs now because its an elementary school atmosphere there? Bullshit. Big guys, playing a violent game, with half the Bengals arrested, pacman jones and mike vick and, etc. etc. etc. That was not a bad assumption and they are not the police - profiling based on fact is not racist so chill out.
Francesa is not racist... He has Japanese neighbors, he said so himself!!!
BR: Most african americans do not have fathers. Secondly, sean taylor had been arrested several times, at least once for assault, so why were they so wrong, and so racist to assume, as many others did, that his death was related to his troubled and violent past (he once pistol whipped someone for stealing his ATV, a normal person would have just reported it).
It would be more correct to label their unenlightened commentaries, such as the display in the days after 9/11, to stupidity rather than racism. I doubt either one of these two is a racist. It's more of a result of them having to prove they are worldly and all-knowing, and then exposing themselves as completely clueless.
Folks get it straight. I have neighbors who are Asian doctors, ok? Asian doctors and Latino ballplayers, ok? This is well documented on my website. Now back to your mother's basements.

BTW, watching Mike today - he (francesa) went from your blog to the ny radio message board (worst website in the world). He then clarified that the jets were talking favre, not talking 'to' favre that he knew. Which my sources had said they 'might' be talking to green bay. but they (the jets) denied talking favre at all.
