U.S. women win in soccer, but lose on softball? Huh?
Lemme get this straight: The U.S. women won the gold medal in soccer but lost it in softball? Isn't that, you know, backward?
Cat Osterman seemed to have been crying recently when interviewed after the softball loss by NBC.
I rented "A League of their Own" for the family the other night, so I know crying isn't allowed in baseball. So it shouldn't be in softball, right?

Neil,
Great movie! The line about no cryin in baseball was better than Jon Lovitz saying you see ladies, the train moves and not the station.
Madonna and Rosie actually were not bad with regards to their acting. you could say they passed AA Level for acting.
Shea
It is an excellent flick.
I'm not sure that the same no crying rules apply to softball. In softball, they have bigger balls and don't have to run as far. They slap bunt a lot too.
Didn't see the game but it might have been a shrewd move by the USA to keep softball in the Olympics. There's been talk that the sport would be dropped due to American domination in the sport. Whatever.
"You see the grass? Don't eat it."
Doris Murphy: That dress don't fit you, Mae, it's too tight.
Mae Mordabito: I don't plan on wearing it that long
(I always wondered why Madonna's character wasn't named Mae Morlibeetoe)
Winning in soccer and losing in softball is simply another sign of the coming Downfall of the American Empire that was brought on by the incorporation of soccer into the America societal fabric.
Just my opinion, from two time zones away.
