Here's another thing I missed over the weekend: Joe Theismann talking about what has become of "Monday Night Football" in general and about Tony Kornheiser in particular.
I'm starting to get the sense Theismann has not completely gotten over being replaced on the show.

Hey Neil,
Isn't it about time you called on your heroes Barney Rubble and Mini-Magoo to take over the MNF broadcast????
Tony might not belong in the booth, but I know for sure that Theismann didn't.
Kornheiser is just awful. His jokes are bad and everything turns into some kind of fake debate. Just last night a player was injured right after Kickoff and Tony was more concerned about getting his scripted lines out before they noticed he was injured. Please just announce the game and stop reading the pre written script and puns that isn't witty.
Nice post chris... my feelings exactly.
I love Tony on PTI, but he is God awful on MNF. He tries to make too many proclamations about what's going on in the game. Here's an idea, just broadcast the game. Thats what we want. I dont need bold proclamations about Joe Flacco.
Cut the crap and broadcast football. Is it really that difficult?
I agree Tony is not good but Theismann sounds like a scorned woman. Just shut up and move on. you were there 20 years.
Kornheiser sucks. ESPN screwed up putting him in there,Dennis Miller wasn't available? Geez...get him out of there. I like Jaws and the other guy. I enjoyed Dan Patrick on the old Sunday night games but I was usually buzzed already fromm the day games.
Tony's annoying at times, but nothing compared to Theismann. I have personally seen people smile with relief when they were watching his MNF broadcasts...because they'd just pulled their own ears off.
Theismann was bad and always made snap judgments that were usually pretty wrong. I remember he was irate when Sean Taylor got kicked out of a playoff game but then revelations emerged and were found to be true that Taylor spit on a guy on Tampa. Also he is a dirty Redskins homer. Sure Jaws loves his Eagles but he usually is pretty fair with other teams.
