'Dancing With the Stars' still dominated by jocks
Shawn Johnson became the fifth athlete to win "Dancing With the Stars," joining Emmitt Smith, Apolo Anton Ohno, Helio Castroneves and Kristi Yamaguchi.
Lawrence Taylor, eliminated earlier in the competition, appeared on Tuesday's finale.
Sports Business Daily recounted an exchange between L.T. and co-host Tom Bergeron thusly:
Bergeron: “There’s a rumor going around that just impulsively at the 19th hole of some Florida golf courses you’ve been teaching ballroom dancing classes. Is that true?”
L.T.: “No, I’ve been doing lap dances”

I thought this was a ballroom dancing competition not a gymnastics competition. The most disappointing outcomes have come out of this season. There have been some people who were voted off that should not have been and some people that lasted way longer than they should have. Last night was just the clincher for me. I am sick of these reality show outcomes being decided by popularity rather than talent. I am not sure what kind of judging went on last night. How do you give everyone a perfect score? What the ___? I am pretty sure that this will be the last season for me watching this show.
IS THERE SOME PETITION THAT I CAN SIGN THAT IS GOING TO THE MAJOR NETWORKS ASKING THEM TO BRING BACK NON REALITY SHOWS?

On the other end of the spectrum, Monica Seles was eliminated first in the season she danced on the show.
She was far from the best. She was very sloppy looking and big boned for her outfits. (shocking for being an olympic gymnast!!!) & Giles was very elegant and proper! It was definitely a set up and not the first of the show or the season! (cough cough)
The best won this year based on talent and not sex appeal - how refreshing!

I was free and happened to watch the VIEW. Barbara Walters said about DWTS "THE WRONG PERSON WON."

Nobody in the View opposed, usually when a comment was made, the others opposed it and heated discussions follow but all they said that Shawn was 'spunky and cute' , nobody said she deserved to win or was the real winner..
I picked Gilles and Shawn when the show started to be in the finals but not Shawn to be the winner. She won because she won the gold medal in the OLYMPICS, American voters feel obligated to award her with another prize instead of the Frenchman
If she won narrowly by 1%, there's a lot who feel Shawn didn't deserved the dancing prize
this is a dancing show, I feel that Marini who danced with an injured shoulder and who consistently won high scores was the real winner ever , he's the best dancer who displayed passion and artistry ( including all those who won mirror ball trophy). He was robbed big time,
Marini dances will still be remembered in clips, dvds long before DWTS is gone. I hope he gets to be the next Antonio Banderas
