YES, SNY notch impressive first-half television ratings
New York? A baseball town? Do tell.
YES has averaged 4.6 percent of area households for its Yankees telecasts, a record high for a New York cable channel through the All-Star break.
SNY has averaged 3.2 percent of area households for its Mets telecasts, a record high for the Mets on a cable channel through the All-Star break.
YES also is up 33 percent for its "batting practice" show and 24 for its pregame show. Its Mike Francesa simulcast also is way up.
Thanks for reading. More Friday.

People in this city are sick, what can I say.
You've said it yourself, Neil. Baseball is not more exciting than hockey. I won't even bring football into the discussion.
wow you hockey guys have such a complex. you guys are almost as bad as the mets fans are about the yankees.
i have always KILLED my fellow mets fans for pathetically being so concerned about the yankees and rooting so hard against them and to lose in the playoffs, etc. It's pathetic and bush league. Yankees fans, all they care about is winning and titles, you dont see them focused on the mets losing or rooting against the mets.
hockey fans are the same way about baseball and it's equally pathetic. why can't you just focus on enjoying your own sport instead of constantly being upset that people like baseball and that more people don't "realize" just how great hockey is? who cares? enjoy your own sport and leave the others alone.the need for acceptance by the masses confounds me. you guys are like jan brady searching for the one thing she's good at.
High ticket prices, obstructed views, police state attitude -- it's obvious people would rather tune in YES or SNY than go out to the ballpark.
Actually I think it might have more to do with a terrible economy, no jobs to be had, no money to spend on going out, might as well sit home and tune in the ballgame
