Neil, I'm very impressed with your discpline. I used to have contests guessing the over-under on when you'd blog on vacation. Ah, the old days.
Don’t mind me. I am just testing to see if the comments section works. Testing 1 2 3. Testing 1 2 3. Hello, is anyone there?
Kilroy Was Here.... ___(.)____
It's lonely without Watchdog around (yet, surprisingly, the page seems to load slower).
I think Watchdog should follow some of the other leading media personalities and run a "Best of..." (no pun intended) series of blog posts during vacation. We can debate some old stories again in the comments, and look back and see how things turned out.
As a starter, here'a few suggestions for your next vacation:
* "A Historic Moment in Sports Journalism History" (a/k/a "Welcome to WatchDog. It's my blog.") from 5/2/07
* "Suzyn Waldman: Excited about Clemens Signing" from 5/7/07
* "Imus Coming Back? The Hints Keep Coming" from 6/29/07
* "Some people like Craig Carton, many apparently don't" from 2/22/08
* "Mike Francesa admits future with Chris Russo is murky" from 6/27/08
* "Mike Francesa begins planning for life after Mad Dog" from 7/17/08
* "NY sports media milestone: Cablevision buys WatchDog" from 7/31/08
* "Breaking news: Joe Buck joins HBO Sports" from 2/5/09
* "Yankees exec on costly tix: 'Our prices are our prices'" from 2/24/09
* "Cablevision planning to shake up newspaper industry?" from 2/26/09
* "Max Kellerman is an intriguing option for WFAN, no?" - from 3/10/09
Who needs Best-let's start our own postings, although we need someone to put up pix of McNair's girlfriend.
"put up pix of McNair's girlfriend"
Which one?
LOL John H...
Anyone wanna hear some Alaska stories?
Come on Neil!!!!!
Mad Dog Radio has become a complete war zone. He killed his entire staff yesterday except for the weekend guy. Now the midday guys are ripping him. The midday guy just said "Maybe Chris is upset that he left WFAN and he's taking it out on us"
And you are on a beach somewhere kicking back and sipping on an umbrella drink. This is why they invented BlackBerry phones!!!
Since Neil's not here, and as the reigning Comment Contest Winner -- I am taking it upon myself to name this Friday's comment contest winner.
There were slim pickings, but I give it to Brian, for his above comment which makes us all realize how ridicoulously (or, to use Best's term, ridonkulously) addicted we are to this crazy blog.
I know I don't have true authority to award Comment Contest Winners, but hey -- this is New York. And if we've learned anything from our political "leaders" in Albany, we don't need true authority to name Senate Leaders, Lieutenant Governors, or Friday Comment Contest winners. We just do it.
Right On Scotty
