The truth on sports (or at least he thinks so)

Look Who's NOT Talking

There is an old saying, "Children should be seen and not heard".  (Actually, I hope this was a cliché' everywhere and not just in my home).  But, anymore, it seems that once becoming an adult some feel they should be heard even when no one is asking.  How I wish I could go back in time and show my grade school teachers how these grownup interruptions were far more intrusive than anything I ever blurted out as the class clown at Marzolf Elementary.

Who needs Twitter or Facebook when a loud mouth works perfectly fine?

The first week of the 2009 NFL season is in the books as the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills both reminded us that "They are who we thought they were!"  Each lost and both did so in dramatic fashion.

The Bills and Bengals already shared something in common before the season even began.  Both have star wide receivers that spend more time opening their mouths in public than they do getting open in a defensive secondary.

And neither did enough to contribute to their teams in the opening week losses.

Terrell Owens - 2 catches, 46 yards, 0 TD's in 25-24 loss to New England.
Chad Ochocinco - 5 catches, 89 yards, 0 TD's in 12-7 loss to Denver.

And neither has had much to say since.  Chad was remarkably unquotable following Sunday's loss and Terrell Owens left New England without speaking to reporters following the Bills fold against the Patriots on Monday night.

Strange these two, with so much to say during the offseason, can't communicate with the media when it comes to do what they are actually paid to do, playing football.

Hey, maybe Tom Brady can share some insight.  He's considered a model athlete and a respectful professional.

Oh well, maybe next week.
